johnnyboy/pb+j (and other ship names but those are the main ones i think) are johnny x ponyboy. there’s not rly any other explanation for this ship other than they act very gay throughout any piece of media, like the book, movie, MUSICAL ESPECIALLY HOLY… but yeah angst potential is very high. most likely most popular ship

stevepop: soda x steve. people like this cause they’re friends who like are gay for each other trust. i think i started shipping them from the line in the book (this is NOT an exact quote) “steve and soda went into soda’s room and like *something something* ruckus and loud noise followed” and pony thought it was a pillow fight and i was like “😏” but yeah it’s a very cute ship! uh there’s a bunch of one sided stevepop as well, with soda being clueless and dating sandy.

dalbit: dally x two bit. nowwwww i lwk dunno where this ship came from but everyone likes making these twinks suffer so i’m on board. i would ask @wearingpants more abt it cause uh im newer to the ship

MARBIT: marcia x two bit (marcia is cherry’s friend at the drive in) and basically in the drive in scene they where lwk flirting and she even gave him her number (which the dumbass ripped up cause he thought it was fake) this is one of my fave ships (i’m a multishipper) and i love the soc dating a greaser trope)

parry: paul holden x darry. honestly, if you’re a musical fan u lean more heavily into this, cause in the paul vs darry standoff before the rumble, paul says “you still got that purple and gold madras shirt i gave you? you know i remember it looked pretty good on you!” and brent comer who originated darry on broadway and dam berry who originated paul on broadway have made SM lore for them. but in the movie before the rumble paul says to darry “i’ll take you” which is uh… gay. they used to play football together as well and we all know how gay football is
