Season 3 - While en-route to Azati Prime, Enterprise makes a stop at a planet where ananas comosus is the primary lifeform. Malcolm is ecstatic at the prospect of the chef being able to stock up on his favorite food, but unfortunately, the concentration of pineapples on the planet is so high, his allergen medication just can’t suffice. Enterprise has to leave the planet without stocking up on any extra pineapples. Reed is sad.

The episode was cancelled because of all the different facets of the main characters, Reed’s pineapple allergy was one that just nobody had any real interest in exploring further.

Season 4: Theorising that one could transport within his own starship, Captain Jonathan Archer stepped onto the transporter pad and vanished. He awoke to find himself trapped on another ship, facing worlds that were not his own and driven by an unknown force to change people for the better. His only guide on this journey is Trip, a crewman from his own ship who appears in the form of a voice on his communicator. And so, Captain Archer finds himself beaming from world to world, striving to put right what he and Trip arbitrarily deem is wrong and hoping each time that his next transporter beam... will be the beam home. Oh boy.

Episode was cancelled during filming, as the script gave Bakula an unshakable feeling of déjà vécu.

Season 3 - After Enterprise trades supplies with Degra, Hoshi discovers that one of the goods crates accidentally contained a baby Xindi-Aquatic. Hoshi tries to raise it by herself in secret, but it quickly grows too big for its bathtub and almost causes a hull breach as it flails around in panic. Enterprise has to rendezvous with a Xindi-Aquatic ship to keep it safe.

The episode was canned as it disrupted the plan for how Enterprise’s relationship with the different Xindi factions was supposed to play out, so it was retooled into Archer going crazy over Insectoid babies in “Hatchery”.
