Lore for the founding members of the Federation:
Ever think about how a modern Trek show even had a Tellarite main character and another Tellarite on the main bridge crew of the show and after 40 episodes we learned maybe 2 things about Tellarites
You don’t know me🪷
whatever dance sam kirk has going with the andorians in the wedding episode looks like a good vibe
Tiny andorian portrait. 3in x 4in. Watercolor, ink, and colored pencil on paper.

The most infamous fighting technique of all, The Kirk Ass Plant.
I love Star Trek, but I do think the different alien species should get some more weird biology lore sprinkled in from time to time
Andorians/Aenar:
Temperatures run very high due to some chemical heat production in their blood to keep them warm on Andoria
An aspect of their language is a range of insectoid chittering sounds that indicates tone and is a subtle mood indicator (and is not typically audible to humans, though some other species are able to hear it)
Dense protective layer of chitin under the skin that adds a deceptive degree of weight to their frame
Andorian vision being far more sensitive to motion and contrast, but not having very good vision in general and having difficulty processing "warmer" colors visually due to them rarely occurring within their environment evolutionarily
Bajorans:
Respiratory system has regions where it is compressed to filter out debris from the environment (the nose ridges are the most obvious, being external)
Nails are thicker, evolved for digging
Teeth further back in the mouth are dual rowed to crush thick roots
A small coat of short downy hair often coats the torso and limbs as a protective barrier against sand, insects, and certain plants
Betazoids:
Skin is thinner than humans
Joints are weaker due to evolving to live in a lower gravity highly aquatic environment
Blindness, deafness, muteness, or combinations therein are not uncommon due to the evolution of telepathic communication mean that they cause little to no evolutionary issues
When under water they are able to see clearly due to the unique secretions of their eyes and their ears and nostrils shut reflexively.
Cardassians:
Hair is more akin to feathering or quills in texture and evolved to protect sensitive sensory ridges on their scalps
Talons and dewclaws on their feet
Shed their scales every few months (very Inconvenient)
Vestigial venom glands that now serve a predominantly immune system role
Amazing low-light vision, terrible hearing by comparison to other species (they compensate with conductive devices)
HAPPY STAR TREK DAY!!!
