Rec: I have no familiarity whatsoever with Hellraiser*, but that had no effect on my immense enjoyment of this fic. It is really as it says, a story about love conquering all. The best part for me was seeing Sherlock exercise his intellect while under extreme emotional pressure, and eventually outwitting the villain with a brilliant and elegant display of combination, deduction, and sentiment. While there are definitely some very scary, hair-raising moments, all of the horror is psychological as mentioned in the tags, no gore and just one very brief canon-compliant scene of physical torture.
* I read the Wiki entry on Hellraiser after reading this, and pretty much none of that story is relevant to the events in this fic, afaics. It’s just the Pinhead character that is used.
