snape fans condone and hate James Potter because he bullied snape...yet in the same breath they ENDORSE/SUPPORT a person who is/became/was an EVEN BIGGER BULLY then James ever was.
That is just facts.
Hello! I absolutely adore your writing, Iāve binged like all of your fics š. If possible could you do maybe a poly!moonwater x reader where said reader maybe gets hurt (maybe someone says something negative about Remus and she gets hurt defending him?) I just absolutely adore your moonwater fics! And when Barty gets involved is hilarious. thank you so much! No pressure if you donāt feel the Inspo for it!
I've not written for moonwater in a while, so this was a sweet treat! thanks for your request, lovie <3
poly!moonwater x gn!reader who defends Remus' honour
CW: Snape's a wanker in this and we hand his ass to him for it [sorry to my Snape apologists out there - don't hate me!], alluding to blood but no actual mention of it? small injury to hand, Regulus sharing Sirius' DNA trait for mischief
You sucked in a pained breath through your teeth which was quickly replicated by your boyfriend in some sort of weird comradery.
āI know, I know; Iām sorry dove.ā Remus murmured softly as he continued dabbing gently at the broken skin on your knuckles.Ā
āSānot your fault.ā You mumbled petulantly as you tried to ignore the stinging of every swipe he made; the once pristine white cloth now quite decorated in red.Ā
Remus snorted as he eyed you pointedly before affixing his gaze back to your hands. āIt sounds as if it sort of was.āĀ
Friendly reminder that Snape told Voldemort about the prophecy.
Welcome! This is our rewrite of the entire Harry Potter series! This is a current work in progress, but plans include to redo the entirety of the 7 books, plus writing a book for 8th year, a story taking place in 2015 (about 17 years after the battle), and a fic that follows along the entire series as the reactions of those who died to the current events. This has been a passionate project for the two of us for over a year now and we have started this blog to get it out there, later recruiting beta readers. There are going to be MANY changes for the entire book series. Both of us hate JKR and are trans, and this rewrite is a source of healing from the hurt that she has been causing with her beliefs for the two of us. She did write the original series (sadly) but we are changing so much of it, it is basically ours. The rewrite as a whole will be tackling themes of queer identity, disability, family, love, and courage, from people who have struggled with all of the above. This series has a lot of ourselves put into it, but also a lot of research. This is not currently on Ao3, but it will be eventually. Now, let's introduce the authors and their PLETHORA of issues!
The main one writing the actual words on the page is Solstice (@packcoventhing), a dissociative system with Autism, OCD, GAD, SAD, and ADHD. He also has chronic patellofemoral syndrome (loose kneecaps), undiagnosed hypermobility, and other physical issues. Usually in authors' notes, if itās not noted who wrote it, it comes from him or both authors. He loves character interactions, development, and personality showcases. Heās 19 years old and uses it/he pronouns. The co-author that does a lot of the nitty gritty in finding sources for us both to read, making the map, helping plot the actual books, etc etc. is Lief (@sfhppjmc). They have undiagnosed everything (/silly), except for a few physical issues, theyāre autistic, OCD, GAD, dyspraxic, and have vision disorders, a movement disorder, and history of lung and asthma issues. They like evolutions of relationships, culture, influences of anything around them, and adding in representation of all kinds. Theyāre 18 and use they/it pronouns. We are both contactable through tumblr if you guys have any questions!

Snape makes me so fucking mad holy fuck, Iām incapable of thinking of him positively. I donāt even like Draco and I think of him 10x more positively than I think of Snape.
What kind of person gets bullied as a child and then grows up and bullies the child of his bully like that makes him way worse than James (btw I love James and I fully believe he matured and grew up and is a good person who deserved more than for Snape to tell a literal Nazi terrorist to kill him and his infant son but to leave his wife alive). Snape had way more power over the kids he taught than James did over him and what did he do with it?
He made fun of their appearance and scared them to the point that he was Nevilleās boggart (which when you think about it is so awful because 1, Nevilleās parents got tortured into insanity and Iām pretty sure he was there, and his boggart probably should have been Bellatrix or his uncle even, and 2, he did it because Neville was the other possible prophecy child and Snape was upset that Voldie didnāt pick him to kill when HE GAVE HIM THE PROPHECY IN THE FIRST PLACE).
He said shitty things about Harryās dead parents and orphan-hood, was glaring at Harry literally right off the bat so donāt say it was because he got into trouble a lot, asked him questions he couldnāt possibly know, told Draco to summon a serpent during duelling club??? How irresponsible is that???
Literally lied to the minister just to get Sirius killed, which atp is ridiculous (I think Sirius was dumb as fuck, careless, possibly malicious, to tell snape where to go to find moony, but snape literally already suspected that Remus was a werewolf so idk what the fuck he thought was gonna happen if he found him during the full moon, and calling it a murder attempt is a stretch), like grow up please this man was in Azkaban for 12 years which is a hugely disproportionate punishment for anything he did do to you, and the reason he was there in the first place was literally fraudulent, which he knew and he lied anyway.
And honestly the Legilimancy lessons were fucking joke, who looks through an abused kids memories and makes fun of both the abuse and the few good memories he has?? And then heās surprised that Harry tried to equal the playing field between them?? Snape had way more power than Harry did, and obviously it wasnāt the best thing to do to a person but yk what Iām not going to judge Harryās actions, Snape was abusive and the victim isnāt to blame for their reactions to their abuser.
And he threw Harry across the room for seeing his memories?? Abuse. To be honest even seeing the memory about James being a bully felt like JKR trying to make shit up as fast as possible to make Snape seem more redeemable, which apparently worked for some people who think abusing kids is okay as long as you have a tragic backstory and an abusive parent. And it actually makes me really mad that he thought Harry was treated like a prince so decided to treat him like shit so he wouldnāt get any ideas about having self esteem or confidence, then found out that he was abused and then just did nothing and tbh treated him worse. And the lessons themselves were actually painful to Harry?? They definitely made his mind more vulnerable, he had more nightmares.
And letās not forget that he joined a Nazi group that wanted to exterminate people like his best friend, called his best friend a slur, viewed Lily as an exception to the other muggleborns, and invented sectumsempura for his enemies IN SCHOOL which means the Maurauders.
And it makes me sick that he looked in a room with a crying baby whose parents just got murdered, his mom right in front of him, and a dead woman who was killed by his Nazi leader like directly because of his actions, and then he ignored the baby and went to hug the womanās dead body. Like if I was Lily, I wouldnāt want him near either my body or my child, but if he was my only option, then he better be fucking taking care of my living son. Like she rejected him his weird obsession for her freaks me tf out.
And I get that without Snape asking for Lily to be spared, Voldemort wouldnāt have asked Lily to stand aside and the blood protection wouldnāt have been activated, but literally once good thing happening because of a tragedy he caused doesnāt make him a good person.
Anyway. Think I got it out of my system for now. Fuck Snape. :)
Edit: Just to be clear, I actually find his character really compelling, even though I dislike him and his actions. And of course Iām not saying no one can like Snape.
So, a while ago I saw a post that Dumbledore collected outcasts just as Slughorn collected important people. But I just realized that Dumbledore only collects outcasts that he can give opportunities to, so that they feel indebted to him and are loyal. Hagrid, Remus and Snape were given something that no one else would have given them, and they were extremely loyal to Dumbledore.
Hagrid was given the chance to stay in Hogwarts and be part of that society, even though he was the believed perpetrator of a cold bloded murder and having housed and extremely dangerous beast in the castle. He later got to teach despite not having completed his education. Dumbledore gave him that, and Hagrid was extremely thankful for that.
Remus Lupin was given a normal education in Hogwarts despite his condition. A condition that was extremely judged and discriminated against in the wizarding world. We never again hear of another werewolf that attended Hogwarts, he was given an special opportunity. Remus owes his education and the friends he made while in Hogwarts to Dumbledore, a man that later on would give him his first stable job in years. Not only that but he got the job while Sirius Black was on the run and many people (Snape) believed he was helping Black sneak into Hogwarts. That was an awful lot of trust that was put on Remus. Trust that Dumbledore put on Remus. He is also very thankful for that.
Snape was given the chance to not go to jail for being a death eater. He was accused infront of a jury and it's Dumbledore's words that allowed him to keep his freedom, it doesn't matter why he "turned", if Dumbledore hadn't given him a chance, Snape would have gotten caught being a death eater and would have gotten sent to Askaban to rot in a cell. And when the war ended Snape was given the chance to have a job, a stable job, despite being very abusive towards children (although he probably didn't perceive himself as such) and more importantly, despite his shady past, he had been the equivalent of a Nazi and was given the chance to teach at a school. He owed Dumbledore his freedom and his career.
As you can see, the three of them owed something important to Dumbledore, but the particularly of this debt is that it wasn't material, if he had given Remus money, he could have invested and maybe give it back, but his education is not something he can pay back, he feels like there is no other option than to be loyal to him. In the end he genuinely appreciates Dumbledore. But a lot of his loyalty lies in the fact that he feel indebted to the old man. The same thing with the other two.
Dumbledore not only collected outcasts so that they belonged with him, he collected the outcasts he could offer something special and unique, something so special and unique they would have no chance but to be loyal to him. He wasn't an old nice man who cared for the ones that didn't fit. He was a manipulative guy that only searched for loyal supporters through fake kindness. Which is really scary if you think about it.
friendly reminder that being a regulus stan ā being a snape stan
regulus died at 18 fighting against everything he knew
snape lived to his thirties and spent his adulthood bullying children (among other things)
to quote sirius, āmy idiot brother, soft enough to believe them⦠thatās him.ā we know sirius, and he wouldnāt have talked like that if regulus had been some git like snape or avery
