This park is adjacent to the Thames Barrier on the River Thames which keeps London protected from flooding. The park is very underrated and does not seem to attract many visitors. Maybe people just aren't interested in impressive flood defence infrastructure! The undulating hedges in the foreground are known as Greed Dock and are meant to represent the movement of the nearby River Thames.

Apparently approximately 25% of the UK's sugar is offloaded and refined here. Inside there is a huge secret sugar mountain.

I came across this spectacular painting of the Tate & Lyle factory and its surroundings in Silvertown, east London, this mornng. It is by artist Liam O’Donnell and is remarkably good.
