When you are not feeling inspired, there is always a cloud

Until this year, you could use the whole of Middle Dock for open water swimming but there were never this many people using it. Now only a small corner of Middle Dock has been sectioned-off as a swimming pool and it has become far more popular. Bizarre! I want the old open water swimming back please!

Life is an avacado

This is actually "Boat", a sculpture outside Guy's Hospital in London. It represents a Roman boat which sank nearby. Nevertheless it still looks like the Loch Ness Monster which has of course never made its way up the River Thames to London as far as I am aware.

The birthday was almost missed. As sometimes happens I only remembered my photo of the day late in the evening. Today of all days. Luckily a mystery figure on the stairs came to the rescue!

Under the railway viaduct on Borough High Street in London there is this mosaic on the wall. It is right outside a Starbuck's. For this reason it might be thought to be fake but my research indicates that the mosaic is genuine and has been restored. Obviously there is no smoking room in Starbuck's though
