Blurry sc … too much motion I guess
the biggest reason im so frantic and worried about KOSA and its shitty sister bills getting passed is that because of current american politics and the way the cycle goes, if these bills do end up passing, we’re probably not gonna reverse them for a LONG time.
people keep comparing these bills to prohibition and the banning of alcohol, and it’s not like that’s an inadequate comparison, but something in my gut tells me that with the way things are going, we’re gonna end up with something more akin to the national marijuana ban, which, reminder, fully went into effect in 1970, and only got somewhat reversed in 2014. this was the direct result of years of right-wing propaganda and a cabinet full of people who were either behind the lie or fully believed the lie, and it took literal decades for weed to be legal again. in a small number of places too, no less.
the point is: this is THE Line. and we need to get louder and louder about holding it. we cannot let up. because if we do, who knows how long it will be before we get even a little bit of our freedom back? with our current roster of officials, elected or not, it’s unlikely that they’ll push back much unless we scream at them to do so. fuck KOSA, SCREEN, and all of its sister bills. we need to make sure they never, EVER try this shit again. do not let any representative, senator, or politician off the hook about any of this.
