Georgia teacher reaches nearly $300,000 settlement in Charlie Kirk Facebook post lawsuit

OGLETHORPE COUNTY, Ga. —

A former Georgia Teacher of the Year finalist has reached a settlement with her school district after alleging that she was punished for social media comments about conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Also spelled Dixon or Dickson) is a closed port town located in northern Russia and is one of the world's northernmost settlements. Dikson is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) situated in Taymyrsky Dolgano-Nenetsky District of Krasnoyarsk Krai.

It is situated on the Kara Sea, located on a headland at the mouth of the Yenisei Gulf (the Yenisei River estuary), on Russia's Arctic Ocean coast.

As of the 2021 Census, its population was 319. It is the world's northernmost settlement on a continental mainland.

On this month of April we mark the celebration of African Heritage in Honduras, it indicates the arrival of the first Garifuna people in the country 228 years ago and also to the cultural richness of this ethnic community, which represents nearly ten percent of the Honduran population.

The arrival of the Garifuna occurred on April 12, 1797, coming from the island of Saint Vincent in the Lesser Antilles. This occurred due to the rebellion of the Garifuna and their opposition to slavery, which led to their expulsion by the British.

It should also be mentioned that they were originally on their way to Jamaica but were shipwrecked off the Bay Islands, where they settled, founding what is now known as Punta Gorda.

African Heritage Month is considered a national law under Legislative Decree 330-2002, considering that the African presence and culture in Honduras dates back to the early decades of the 16th century.

En este mes de abril se conmemora la Herencia Africana en Honduras, que hace referencia la llegada de los primeros garífunas en el país hace 224 años y también la riqueza cultural de esta comunidad étnica que representa casi el 10 por ciento de la población hondureña.

La llegada de los garífunas ocurrió el 12 de abril de 1797, que provenían de la isla de San Vicente en las Antillas Menores, esto ocurre por la rebeldía de los garífunas y su oposición a la esclavitud que produjo que fueran expulsados por los ingleses de San Vicente.

En este sentido, hay que mencionar que originalmente iban para Jamaica pero naufragaron frente a Isla de la Bahía, lugar donde se quedaron fundado lo que hoy se conoce como Punta Gorda.

Settlement: Thopperton upon the Clouds

A quaint little gnomish town that just so happens to be a wonder of artifice, the flying settlement of Thopperton can usually be found anchored above another village for trade or drifting over the wilderness as it makes it's yearly circuit across the countryside.

Recently however the town has become snared in an impenetrable cloudbank that no wind or weathermage seems to be able to breach for more than a moment. Opinions are divided as to whether the town should continue onward (Thopperton and the settlements it visits are reliant on eachother for food and trade, and too many delays risk causing a crisis) or stop until a solution is found (trying to travel without being able to see the horizon risks sending the ship astray, putting them further off their timeline)

Adventure Hooks:

If the party need a reason to want to visit a flying gnomish town beyond sheer curiosity, they could be seeking aid or instruction from one of Thopperton’s famous tinkerer’s workshops. Alternatively they could be tasked with delivering an important message/package to one of the nobles or merchants who’ve decided to keep a summerhome on the airborne settlement. The views are to die for after all.

An impromptu festival has broken out on the streets of Thopperton as the inhabitants look to lift the dour mood imposed by the oppressive fog. Colourful lights and music fill the cloudy streets with phantasmagoria, whole blocks and market squares have been turned into mazes of cloth, and every workshop has opened their doors for an improvised inventor’s fair

The source of the omnipresent clouds is “The Lady of Veils” a djinn who has grown fond of visiting the flying burg and decided to “acquire” it. Conquer is such an unfriendly word after all.  Disguised as a foreign dignitary she’s taken up residence in Thopperton’s most exclusive hotel, hosting a soiree that ensorcels the town’s administration while she works a spell to transport the whole settlement to her fey domain. Her servants move through the fog unseen, forcibly inviting those who strike her fancy and disposing of those who would try to stop her.
