yul stares for a second before getting up and leaving the room.

there’s no way in hell he’s answering that, he thinks as he walks down the hallway.

of all the people in the world it had to be those three. and now that he’s actually thinking about it, he grimaces in annoyance at the seed of thought being planted in his head.

because if really came down to it… he would ultimately choose to marry @jamiechr despite the fact that he would get his ass kicked by hyerin, bang @chrhyerin and then get his ass kicked again and block @alexchr before getting his ass kicked one last time.

“interesting...” she mused, unable to withhold her amused chuckle at the question. “without a doubt, i’d marry eira, obviously. as for the other two...bang kitae and block hayoung, i guess.”

“I’ve loved more than one person and they’ve all been alone in that kind of love. It’s unique to just them, every time.” Thoughtful silence. He thinks the answer has a bit of subjectivity, almost overly reliant on his definition of love and howsoever that feeling manifests itself. The weight of that leads to a deepening rumination whose abyss unveils itself slowly, plummeting relentlessly. He considers opting for something simple and mentioning art. ‘Who’, however, usually pertained to people. The silence persists until it doesn’t.

when he graduated, she probably gave him shit for going to snu because why would you go to snu when yonsei university exists? was she being biased because of her dad? yes. did she care? not at all. 

she grew up hating that her half siblings were so much older than her and never turned their nose in her direction. she probably is envious of his little sister for having a brother as good as sungho. 

miran had fully intended on opening up about her family issues the day they were going to meet up. she’s not sure how many children have the distinct honor of saying they convinced their mom to leave their dad, but miran was proud that her mom was finally taking the first steps in getting herself out of an unhappy marriage. she did worry that it would seem like she was dumping all her trauma onto him, but she thought he was trustworthy enough to know her family secrets. 

the first time she saw him again (without him knowing) was in early 2020. she was having a late night study session by herself at a cafe. when she realized that he was walking in, she slammed her head onto the table (yes, for the record it did hurt) and shoved her open laptop over her head so that it was covering her. she’s not sure if he ever noticed the weird cafe patron with a laptop as her hat but she’s never been back to the cafe since. which is a shame because she really liked their drinks. 

a few weeks after getting kicked out, she tried to drunkenly see him in his apartment complex to apologize for ghosting him but was kicked out by the front desk. if he ever wonders why a random female named marrissa was trying to find him, it was actually her. 

haneul doesn’t really know how they became friends, but he’s happy they did. alex has always been so different from him, and haneul never imagined that a cool guy would want to be friends with a nerdy guy, and yet their friendship has been alive for years after their graduation — and by alive, i mean breathing with difficulty... but haneul is willing to get it back together.

haneul keeps memories from high school, and the drawings of him made by alex are a few of them. that was probably the first time someone put so much effort into making something about haneul ( before his wife, of course ), the first time someone made art out of his image. he really appreciates all the work alex put into those drawings, so he keeps them to this day.

technically, while sungho was not her first relationship ( that would go to a boy in secondary school where they only went out for a week, breaking up because he was too scared to even hold her hand ), he was her first everything else. first kiss, first date, first real relationship, first time, first love, first break up. she's not sure if he knows, but because of that she's naturally developed a soft spot for him. now that, she'll make sure to never tell.

they were kids when they dated, kids when they broke up, and because they didn't really speak afterward she didn't really pay attention to him growing up. she's a little shell-shocked ( for lack of a better word ) when she speaks to him now, not used to seeing him so manly and confident.

since their meeting at the nam's divorce party, she's started checking his instagram a lot more than she'd ever admit. there was a joke about her liking year old photos at 3am, and she ... might have done it accidentally since then ( and screamed out loud ). she'd blame it on her dog if he ever asks. please don't ask.

one her favorite jackets to wear is actually his ⏤ she thinks it's something that slipped through the cracks during the breakup because he never asked for it back. even if he did, she would have told him she didn't know where it was. it's nothing special ⏤ simple and black, still way oversized for her frame, but she refused to let it go because it was super soft and her go-to for comfort. she wears it out from time to time, nearly forgetting that it's actually his. nearly.

“Gweneira.” His answer comes immediately, eyes warmed by a reminiscence he’d mostly internalize, ruminate over quietly, delve into fondly, immersing himself. “It sounds so beautiful, doesn’t it? It always reminds me of something untouchable. Not competitively but as if it were encased in glass, unreachable because it’s something precious being safekept from everything else. Lonely and cold in its cage. I’m sure that’s her influencing my vision but I interpret it more as her ascending the meaning of her name, if that makes sense. I do think that if I hadn’t met her and I’d just heard the name, I’d still think of something like that. Like a blank slate, icy, catching all the light.” His hum is sweet and drawled, as if he were leaving the moment with her reluctantly, voice faint. “Very pretty.”
