truth or dare meme — status: CURRENTLY ACCEPTING 

when he graduated, she probably gave him shit for going to snu because why would you go to snu when yonsei university exists? was she being biased because of her dad? yes. did she care? not at all. 

she grew up hating that her half siblings were so much older than her and never turned their nose in her direction. she probably is envious of his little sister for having a brother as good as sungho. 

miran had fully intended on opening up about her family issues the day they were going to meet up. she’s not sure how many children have the distinct honor of saying they convinced their mom to leave their dad, but miran was proud that her mom was finally taking the first steps in getting herself out of an unhappy marriage. she did worry that it would seem like she was dumping all her trauma onto him, but she thought he was trustworthy enough to know her family secrets. 

the first time she saw him again (without him knowing) was in early 2020. she was having a late night study session by herself at a cafe. when she realized that he was walking in, she slammed her head onto the table (yes, for the record it did hurt) and shoved her open laptop over her head so that it was covering her. she’s not sure if he ever noticed the weird cafe patron with a laptop as her hat but she’s never been back to the cafe since. which is a shame because she really liked their drinks. 

a few weeks after getting kicked out, she tried to drunkenly see him in his apartment complex to apologize for ghosting him but was kicked out by the front desk. if he ever wonders why a random female named marrissa was trying to find him, it was actually her. 

yul laughs awkwardly before rolling his shoulders back.

“um, funny story. considering this was just recently too.” yul cheekily states before explaining himself. “so there was one time, i was working overtime. by the time i remembered i was supposed to pick up shia from preschool, it was already 5pm.”

he scrunches his nose in slight embarrassment at the story. “obviously, i get out of the office as soon as i can to her school but by the time i get there it’s already closed and no one is there. i call her teacher multiple times but no one picks up.”

“at that point, i’m about to have a breakdown and can barely remind myself to call the police because i’m thinking about all these things that could’ve happened to shia and wondering why her teacher didn’t call me,” yul laughs lightly as pulls out his phone and begins browsing through it.

“and just as i’m about to report shia as missing, i receive a text from jamie of a picture of shia.”

technically, while sungho was not her first relationship ( that would go to a boy in secondary school where they only went out for a week, breaking up because he was too scared to even hold her hand ), he was her first everything else. first kiss, first date, first real relationship, first time, first love, first break up. she's not sure if he knows, but because of that she's naturally developed a soft spot for him. now that, she'll make sure to never tell.

they were kids when they dated, kids when they broke up, and because they didn't really speak afterward she didn't really pay attention to him growing up. she's a little shell-shocked ( for lack of a better word ) when she speaks to him now, not used to seeing him so manly and confident.

since their meeting at the nam's divorce party, she's started checking his instagram a lot more than she'd ever admit. there was a joke about her liking year old photos at 3am, and she ... might have done it accidentally since then ( and screamed out loud ). she'd blame it on her dog if he ever asks. please don't ask.

one her favorite jackets to wear is actually his ⏤ she thinks it's something that slipped through the cracks during the breakup because he never asked for it back. even if he did, she would have told him she didn't know where it was. it's nothing special ⏤ simple and black, still way oversized for her frame, but she refused to let it go because it was super soft and her go-to for comfort. she wears it out from time to time, nearly forgetting that it's actually his. nearly.

to have a crush is akin to taking a drug ⏤ the high that can last for a spell, the daydreams that take her away from the terrors of reality, the addictive nature of the heartwarming feelings that arise. it’s why arisa can find the beauty within almost everyone if given the chance, why she extends her love to nearly anyone and grows attached within record time. case in point: a japanese woman strolling around the law department of seoul national university when she had no business being there ⏤ her own department was in a completely different building on a different side of the campus, none of her friends reside there nor take any classes, and there are no presentations that she can rely on either.

no, the reason for her presence here was a handsome boy with shaggy hair, square glasses, and the cutest dimples she’s ever seen in her entire life. he saved her from the embarrassment of tripping on the pavement not to long ago, catching her before she fell with a chuckle, then proceeded to hold the door open for her to the campus cafe. so, naturally, arisa fell head over heels for him in about three minutes or less. and naturally, she had to learn more. eyes caught a book saying something with the word law upon the front as he shuffled around in his book bag before he left, so she allows herself to wait thirty minutes after his disappearance to see if she could bump into him again somehow, on some meet-cute kind of thing. or at least find out his name. or instagram handle. give her something to work with.

( and never mind the fact that this could be considered stalking, if anyone really knew. )

also never mind the fact that arisa was never great at thinking ahead or creating a plan, and it’s illustrated within her expression; a deer without it’s mother within the vast forest, raising upon the tips of her feet to peer within windows, blinking around corners, and turning to and fro to for a familiar glimpse of the object of her infatuation. palms tighten upon the straps of her purse as the clicks of her heels are slow, deliberate, and she’s about to give up when does spot a familiar frame in the distance, but isn’t one hundred percent sure. that couldn’t be sungho ... yoo sungho from hannam, right? not the one who made sure to constantly tease her about the crush she had on him during their time in school, right? no possible way.

Changmin's had his fair share of bad deeds...okay, maybe there were too many bad deeds to mention to ever handpick the worst one ever. Was it when he killed his father? No, he needed to go. That one time he resorted to a three-day torture fest in order to get the information he needed? Hm, too cliche.

the fact that sungho constantly flirted with her in high school just for her reaction made her crush get to chronic levels ⏤ day dreams of actually being his girlfriend; kissing, holding hands, all the gushy stuff. because of that, arisa went through all five stages of grief whenever she found out that he was all just for fun and didn't want to pursue anything further.

the above also happened around the time of valentine's day. she made sure to make cupcakes specifically for him instead of candy, but instead pushed it on another and pretended that she forgot what day it was when he asked.

naturally, after the incident where he showed up to one of sapentia's handshakes and all she could do blush and act completely different than she did usually as an idol, there were dating rumors that came out about her. fans found out that sungho went to the same school as her and the rumors got so big that her manager had to ask if she was dating him. she promptly showed up to school the next day and ( lightly ) hit him for it.

it was strange for her to be on campus as often as she was despite no longer attending the school. to some, it was ridiculous to be lying about her internship to her mother. some would even argue that being able to land an internship position directly following graduation was something to boast about. however, mimi’s situation was a particular one, making it much easier on herself to convince her mother that she was continuing her education. consequently, this meant needing to gather “evidence” of such to provide every now and then. from selfies with friends to snapshots of her lunch in the cafeteria, mimi was constantly providing her mother with updates on her wellbeing and campus life. 

lost in thought, mimi was too distracted to keep note of her surroundings, subsequently brushing shoulders without notice. the collision wasn’t enough to cause harm, but enough to cause her phone to fall from her grasp. “shit.” she muttered, watching it drop with a sigh before finally taking action and squatting down to pick it up. upon quick examination, mimi found no visible scratches or cracks, and smiled with relief. 

“i’m so sorry about that, i should’ve watched where i was— oh my gosh!” her apology was cut short as she looked up at the familiar face that loomed over her own petite figure. “yoo sungho, right? i’m ito misaki— mimi. we were briefly at hannam together.” 

being two years older than herself, there was little chance of the other actually recognizing who she was. not to mention, she’d only ever recalled hearing of him rather than actually speaking to him. but tomato, tomato; the past was the past. it was time to start anew and a little networking never hurt anyone. considering hannam’s wide range of alumni, it was one of many benefits that came with graduating from the alma mater.
