#roast ham

Since hams aren't really a summer thing, I spied this one on sale for half the usual cost and pounced. Super excited for this, despite the fact it is not exactly sanctioned by my diet.

Though, I am sure it is providence somehow, that led me to this ham. Today is a rather miserable, wet Sunday and given a distressing event that occurred steps from my door earlier this week, we were all in need of comfort. So, we shall feast on salty, smoked pork! Tomorrow or the next day, it's pea soup and sandwiches. Nothing wasted!!

I, being a Canadian, have liberally slathered this bone-in butt with Dijon, Maple Syrup, grated fresh garlic, cracked pepper and a pinch of ground clove. I am roasting at 325 F for 2 hrs to keep moist l since it's precooked.

To accompany this ham, I am going to cook french beans and mashed potatoes, of course! Nothing but the faves for this dinner. Expect more pictures. :)
