Had to repost these powerful words and picture from @saracelinaa: ・・・ “On my 8 week checkup my doctor told me -‘wow, you got your body back quickly’ as if I had lost it at some point. . . I’ve shared my body twice, but it was never taken from me, it was never lost. My body has been stretched and cut open, it suffered bursts and have been sown back together but it’s always been my body. If anything my pregnancies have made me more I touch with my body. . . It got me thinking about the way we talk about bodies after a pregnancy -‘how to get your body back’ or -‘when will you be back to normal’.... what is that!? Why do we talk about this like we loose ourselves when we become pregnant? And back to ‘normal’? What is not normal about a pregnancy or how we look after it? . . I guess what people really mean by this is ‘when will you look like you did post pregnancy’ and my answer to that is never, I’ve got scars and loose skin that is my new normal, but it’s still my old body ♥️ .” . . . . . . . . . . #postpartumbody #postpartum #motherhood #bodypositive #momlife #mumlife #letterboard #letterboardquotes #momandson #newborn #maternity #postpartumbelly #midwife #midwifery #midwifical #midwives #midwifelife #midwivesrock #feministmidwife #midwiferycare #postpartummom #postpartummoms #postpartumhealth #postpartumhealing #takebackpostpartum #postpartumlife #postpartumcare #postpartumproblems #postpartumjourney https://www.instagram.com/p/BraeWpWn1-g/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=17a5nieq88buh
