sometimes i think about how polyamory is treated even by a lot of queer people and it makes me want to shake people by their shoulders. can we talk about how monogamous marriage as it existed and exists in the usa is highly patriarchal and damaging to like… everyone? can we talk about how forced monogamy was utilized as a form of genocide? please?

I was in a polycule for a year, but now that it's over I I've realized polyamory is not for me*. And that's okay. And it doesn't mean polyamory is evil or inherently dysfunctional. I'm glad I tried it and learned more about myself from it and reflected on that fact. I still think the hatred and yes, persecution, of consensual polyamorists (is that the word?) is stupid.
*to an extent. I really don't care much if my romantic partner has friends with benefits or one night stands or what have you, as long as protection use and testing is frequently done, but I need to be the romantic focus.
