This is what it feels like to exist. This is how it feels to be, CONSTANTLY, isn't it? Like... you imagine... what would happen if you were gone... but you're too weak to find out?
Susie's response here is beautiful, too... people never recognize just how beautiful they are. If you were gone today, it'd leave a permanent hole in someone's heart. You just have to find someone like that.
Connection to others. I can't imagine something so nourishing, yet so difficult to attain, so treacherous to reach. Living your life day in and day out alone, friendless, loveless, is torture, but trying to connect is like wading through icewater. There's nothing Noelle wants more than to find others who love her for who she is. Everyone else wants her to change; to become stronger, to hide in weakness, to shelter herself or get herself out there; Susie is the only one to look at her and tell her she's beautiful. And that's what we all need. Nobody needs to get stronger. Strength is folly. Weakness is folly. There's no need for strength and weakness in a world filled with connection...
