Lololol
Literally JUST noticed! In The Bucket Job (Leverage: Redemption), the librarian is reading a book by Captain Patrick Bonanno! 😂 It's called "Motive to Strike." Whaddya wanna bet that it was inspired by one of Nate's little perfect cons?
Oh, man. I need to watch Redemption more often. It's funnier than I remember.
Pro-tip for making your roommates want to murder you: Refer to every banana as "Lieutenant Bonanno"
Fam, your Were-wolf Eliot head canon post came up in my queue for reblog and I re-read it and gotta ask,
Does Lieutenant Bonanno know? And if so how did he react?
Tara was with them long enough to find out, how did she react to "Sparky"?
(Also I am majorly inspired by the image of Quinn just showing up when he's in town for a wolfy play date (and yes both Eliot and Quinn have threatened Hardison not to call it that, Parker gets a pass calling it that cause she's Parker and she'll call it that anyway threat or no threat) and I was wondering if you'd be okay with me trying to write that scene and tagging you when it's done?)

Ahh thanks so much for asking!! You've made my brain start thinking about this fic and headcanons all over again!!
Bonanno finds out during the events of The Boys' Night Out Job. After all the other crazy stuff he has to deal with from Nate Ford & Friends, he just throws his hands up and says, 'of course you are. of course werewolves are real. i should'a known.' and goes about his life. But every time they play cards, he squints at Eliot and warns him against using his enhanced abilities to win.
"No funny wolf business, y'hear? We try to keep it a clean game." Eliot just blinks at him. "I don't have x-ray vision, dammit!"
Tara figured it out before the rest of the team did but she never said anything about it, knowing that he was keeping something like that secret for a reason. But when Sophie calls up to rant about something Eliot's done (after the team's found out), Tara just laughs and says something along the lines of "classic Sparky". Sophie is like, wait, you know??? And Tara's like, oh you know now too?? Finally!!! And then they gossip about Eliot and werewolves and all the weird stuff they've encountered on grifts. Because, really, finding out Eliot Spencer is a werewolf is one of the least-weird things to happen in Tara's life.
WOLFY PLAY DATE OH MY GOSH YES THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT IS!!! Ahhh you may absolutely write the scene, I would be honoured! Though fair warning that I have plans to include it in my fic of this whole AU, The Full Moon Job. And if I read your version of it before I write my own, I may be influenced by what you write. So as long as that doesn't bother you, have at it!
(shameless link of my fic included for anyone who might be interested)
How about Lt. Bonanno?
Also just want to say your blog makes me smile so hard.
I’m getting away with canon isn’t real bc I know the actor died and I’m not sure if he’s dead in canon but if so I wish he wasn’t
also tysm 🥺🥺🥺

NOT A NEW CLIP SHOWING BONANNO AS AN AUTHOR OF A BOOK PLEASE I MISS HIM SO MUCH
[id: a screenshot from a new clip of leverage: redemption, showing a man (Levar Burton) sitting at a desk reading a book, pushing his glasses further up his nose. the book's title is obscured here, but reads "Motion To Strike", and the author's name is Patrick Bonanno, and theres a large picture of him on the back, smiling, wearing a neon green shirt. /end id]

The Beantown Bailout Job is one I kinda forget about to be honest. I remember the reunion at the theater and I love everyone being back together and enjoying each other but the rest is kinda forgettable I guess. I'm always surprised at the beginning, Nate tried to go back to a real job and saved a kid and her dad? Surprises me every time.
There is some good work showing Nate in the hospital with a child he was able to save, but again I find this so forgettable somehow.
We do meet Bonanno for the first time in this episode and he's another series favorite.
Now the good stuff...everyone coming to Sophie's play. This is where I get the warm fuzzies because EVEN ELIOT CAME TO THE SHOW. They missed each other so much they all came to this terrible play because it was a way to find Sophie at least.
Eliot's hair is particularly incredible this season.
Six months apart 💔
Nate and Sophie are so awkward around each other. Yikes.
"You rent a condo above a bar. Well, that's very... catholic."
Redemption feelings! Parker wants to comfort Sophie after the terrible performance and accurate harsh reviews: "I know what would make you feel better. We should steal something." Parker uses that same tactic in Redemption and, guess what, it works every time!
I love everyone's recount of what they've been doing for the past six months.
Nate is back on his "I'm not a thief" bullshit. Keep it up Nate, see where it gets you.
Nate fights off an intruder and Sophie comes to help and just headbutts the guy. What the hell, Soph 😂 Of course she also knocks Nate out with a cookie sheet, so maybe not that helpful.
Redemption spoiler: Nate and Harry have now both woken up on a couch (after being knocked out by a member of the Leverage team) to see Parker being very strange. Guess it's a thing.
Grumpy Nate doesn't want everyone in his house but they're here to stay, bud. Accept their love. Also Sophie looks really good in your shirt so maybe don't be so quick to kick her out. Ahem.
Eliot's little clap over Nate's heroics 👏
"What, you thought she was dressed like a nun for no reason?" Um, yes. Because I forget about the con details I always think she's dressed like a nun for no reason.
Parker talks about locks to 1) give Hardison insight into how she sees and relates to other people and 2) how to relate to and get closer to her.
The others know how to draw Nate back in. He can't help himself. Sophie has to turn her face away to hide a smile when she can see he's hooked.
"You know when you're sober your metaphors get creepier?"
"Just this one." There's gotta be a list of the times they say that, right?
Fusco! ♥️ Random, forgettable mob guy is a familiar face from Person of Interest. His character here can't keep his eyes off Sophie's legs. Relatable.
Well Nate decides he's back just until he finds a job he likes better (ha) and then assumes he and Sophie will just go grab dinner. His suggestion is casual, but the implication is clear - of course Sophie is going to be happy to have dinner with him. She's waiting for him to make the next move, right? Not so much. Sophie isn't waiting around anymore. She still cares about Nate, but she's not pining and in fact, she's got a boyfriend. Surprise, motherfucker.
Nate orders a drink, smells it, and then he leaves it at the bar.
New headquarters! Sorry Nate. Jk, not sorry at all. This is one of the the best scenes of the whole series Hardison and Parker are setting up shop ("Hi, I'm Old Nate and I live here too!") and then Eliot does a Kool-aid Man through the wall with a chainsaw.
Patrick Bonanno, published author! Love that for him
