there was apparently a 2004 primary source where jepha said that he had a 7 year old daughter, who was born when he was 19. this original interview was on a website that “no longer exists.” i’ve never seen the original source but it’s been mentioned quite a few times on old bandom blogs/forums.

this 2006 forum post says “He had a daughter when he was 19 but isn't allowed to see her because of ‘bad relations’ with the mother.”

this 2008 livejournal primer says “He has a daughter; she was 7 in 2004, so I estimate about 10-11 now. As her age indicates, he had her while he was still in highschool. It also seems like he doesn't get to spend much time with her; or at least, this was the case in 2004.” i will note that this is THE used primer i would recommend to new fans; it’s well researched and in my opinion, trustworthy (he would not have been in highschool when he was 19 especially since he dropped out early but regardless.)

ALSO, off topic but the above primer does have a link to a mostly-naked quinn pic that i’ve never published on this blog since i feel iffy about posting their nudes however, if you would like to see his sexylicious bod in rather good quality, today is your lucky day. you WILL see his balls so fair warning.

this tumblr post from 2010 mentions the article, the same user posting a quotation a few weeks later with a broken link that says “At age 19 he had a daughter named Lillian, whom he has not seen since her birth due to ‘bad relations’ with the mother.”

this 2012 article i’ve dunked on before for having a lot of misinformation, however it does repeat that “He has a daughter named Lillian.”

personally, i always saw the “dirty clothes” descriptor as quinn not wanting to admit they were sharing some sort of bed, as in, he was trying to paint a no homo-esque picture where quinn was sleeping on whatever his idea of a bed was, and bert was sleeping on the actual floor.

“I remember going back into the bedroom and Bert was like laying in there, you know, on some dirty clothes or something” -> we weren’t cuddled up together, i swear!!

it is true that he didn’t have a mattress, but i really doubt that they were just laying on the bare floor for a year with nothing underneath them?? but then again i have never come across any source for what they were actually sleeping on

and then there’s this photo, which shows up in the maybe memories documentary when quinn says “we shared a bedroom at my parents house” so… either 1. they eventually got a mattress and shared a real bed (the story from the two sources above took place in july 01 and this photo is from december 01 so this could be a possibility) or 2. the photo is not actually of quinn’s room

my best guess is that for the majority of that year they were sleeping on the floor but the dirty clothes thing is a bit of an exaggeration to make it seem more gross and less gay than it actually was. one of those little details i’ve always wondered about too!!
