Once again im drawing Xiao and Macaque from my Destiny’s little voice AU. I love them. Ive never drawn lightning like this before, it’s a little muddy, but fun.

ASK START

So this AU is heavily inspired by @quesocheeso. More specifically in their AUs, when demons give birth, the one who gives birth feed the baby magic and is super weak before and after birth. I also head cannon Macaque as trans. So I had this idea where after macaque and wukong were a couple before they had their fight under the mountain, macaque went back to FFM and continued to protect it and the monkey citizens. That would also have him protecting the mountain during Erlang attack and the hunters, so there’s basically no casualties while macaque is fighting for his and their lives.

Meanwhile wukong at some point during all that got set free by Tripitaka. I’d imagine Tripitaka would have an ice breaker with the group and have everyone introduce themselves. Being the monkey king, wukong was more than happy to give his life story (which everyone else already knew of) Zhu bajie mocks Wukong saying “tell us something we don’t know” so Wukong just goes “bet”  and tells the group his sob story of how he had his heart broken by his super hot ex who totally left him high and dry in the face of the jade emperor and about their super messy break up, thinking everyone would be on his side. Tripitaka was the one who brought up the fact that Mac is no where near as immortal as wukong, and if Mac stayed, he would have been executed instead of imprisoned. So essentially when wukong yelled at Mac saying “you’re not in this, mess you’re still free”, Tripitaka noted that could have been taken as wukong telling Mac he should have died. Which did in fact horrified wukong. After that wukong has reoccurring nightmares of being trapped under the mountain, with Macs corpse being dropped in front of him. 

Then comes the first time wukong is exiled and goes back home and finally sees the damage of erlang, and hears about the hunters from one of his citizens. He immediately thinks of his nightmare and rushed to find macaque who was pursuing the hunters. The moment  wukong catches up with them and his eyes land on macaque, the look on wakings face when he sees Mac alive and breathing has Mac melting into a puddle of goo. Wukong is just happy Mac is alive and forgets to actually say sorry and just acts how they used to like the fight never happened

They take very little time taking care of the hunters and rescuing any captured monkeys playfully bantering the whole time. Then they celebrate and Mac and wukong “catch up”. 

Zhu Bajie comes to get wukong when Mac is sleeping, and wukong runs off to save Tripitaka without waking Mac to say bye. This pisses Mac off. What also pisses Mac off, is finding out he’s pregnant, and wukong is taking his sweet time on his little journey.  Like quesso au, the farther  along the pregnancy, the weaker the mother gets, and given the history of ffm getting attacked when wukong is gone, Mac knows time is a ticking.

So in a true Mother like Nature, Mac goes “fuck it, I’ll do it myself” and runs off to find the group. He gets there in time to see Tripitaka use the circlet on monkey after he decapitates a man and showed the head  to the man’s dad. Wukong is exiled again. When he’s gone, Mac transforms into wukong to try to get the group moving and get this road trip over with. Tripitaka is still pissed, Mac is also pissed and pregnant, KOs the monk and takes their shit, once again saying “FUCK IT ILL DO IT MYSELF”. he was probably a little to rough with the monk but he’s still pissed about watching his Childs father get tortured, even if wuknong kinda deserved it. He realizes the whole group will  act like the monk so he goes home to make his own group since they’ll be a lot faster than the og group.

Wukong comes back and is pissed at the impersonator and is extra pissed when he finds out his boyfriend beat up his friends, Mac is pissed at wukong for ditching him again and taking so long, add having the audacity to get mad at him. The fight escalated and the monkeys are fighting for real now. In the heat of battle, Mac dies, and all of wakings nightmares are suddenly very real now.

his friends help where they can to try to make him feel better, and wukong sort of gaslights himself to putting all the blame for the fight on Mac, reasoning that Mac was gonna kill his friends and wouldn’t listen to him,  as a kind of repression

Mac is stuck in diyu with the full knowledge this his supposed beloved not only killed him, but the child he was caring. Mac infers that wukong would have much rather kill Mac than allow Mac to hurt his travel mates. Mac wasn’t gonna kill them, just knock them out so he can finish the damn journey. Mac spirals from there and comes to realization that wukong never apologized for anything. Never took Macs feelings into account. Never defended Mac. Never took his side. Mac  concludes  that wukong never loved him. Thus enters LBD with a deal, get the key to free her and she’ll make the world free of suffering like the suffering he felt and show the monkey king the errors of his way. Mac accepts to be free of the numbness of death. When he is revived he’s still numb and he realizes that wasn’t a diyu thing and he’s emotionally broken.but even that knowledge doesn’t seem to make him care

He briefly snoops on FFM to see if any of the monkeys he protected missed him, but they are happily playing with their king, aka his murderer. Wukong in turn sees the flickering shadows and thinks its his guilt pulling  at his heart strings again and chooses to ignore it

 mac doesn’t care about the world. His mind is constantly on his child that wukong killed when wukong crushed Mac skull, and the home that did not miss him when he’s gone. He was just so numb to it all. Mac swiftly located and obtains the key to release the bringer or the apocalypse, cause what did the world ever do to him other than take from him. On his way to free her, he starts to notice the pregnancy symptoms which he’s been denying. But when he can’t shadow portal out of the desert, it makes him pay more attention. All leading to when he starts hearing a tiny heart beat, not of his own within him. 

Suddenly a million emotions hit him all at once and he’s left sobbing and screaming for hours realizing not only is he alive but his baby is also. When he finally  screams all the bottled emotions out, he decides not to assist in ending the world as his baby needs that world to live in. So he drops the key, reasoning he found the key so his debt is paid, and then runs

Mac runs from his ex, his enemies, his ex enemies, his ex employer. His magic runs out with his pregnancy taking it all, but he still runs. He lies, steals and does whatever to survive and to keep running. Along the way he gives birth to a baby girl and this renews his need to live, survive, and run to keep his daughter safe. Speaking of his daughter, like quesso au, the birthing parent feeds the infant magic until they can make their own, and his daughter is like a bottomless pit when it comes to eating his magic. He still makes sure he has enough to defend themselves and escape if they need but its really taxing ion his energy lvls. On top of that, the girl has wukonds energy. Its like she never sleeps. Mac also make sure to remain inconspicuous so that no one sees his daughter and figures out who she is, so he put a glammer on her to make her look like a boring human, as to not draw the attention to a certain king that there are 2 celestial monkeys running around when he should be the only one

Mac has this deep seeded fear that if wukong finds out he’s alive and he had their kid, wukong would take his daughter away from him, and she is the only thing that matters to him in the whole world

All this to say, macaque is a single dad who is constantly tired and trying his best for his daughter
