thinking about the highs and lows a lot today. i still like the idea of the highs being like, the expectations of what people have on them for like success/to be a good person and like the expectations they have on themselves to live up to that. lot of this might be hard to actually make an interesting story, but iiiddkk i think its fun to think about.
like i think Cat's high would either be the exact same, because i dont think The Boyz* really have many expectations for him, or his high is very religious like how his guardian probably wanted him to be. he would either love or hate his high, lmao.
then like rimmer's would sort of be like a bit of an Ace but more short haired, clean cut, military like. I think he would like him for a bit but she'd get tired of him pretty quickly.
now lister's a complicated one ☝️ i believe that throughout his life he hasn't had many expectations for him. better or for worse. in a sense his loving family just loving him as is but also most authority figures viewing him as nothing. so either he'd be a bit worse or the same. OR ☝️ be like what the one SOB that expectations towards basically everyone would want him to be. which would be weird and interesting thing. your high being formed by your shithead roommate 😭 this sort of version i think lister would loathe. and also i think he'd be mad at rimmer for awhile. the first version i think he'd get along fine with, but there would be smth sad lingering in his mind that he'd ignore for the most part.
kryten ☝️ hm. it varies a lot. i think he'd be more swayed towards being like super butler bot. because that was the expectation on him for the longest time. which i think would get kryten very fired up. he wouldn't exactly hate his high but he'd be passionate about, well basically "Aren't you tired of being nice all time. Don't you want to go apeshit??" i think he'd also become more impassioned to being more rebellious and would be talking back a lot this episode
