This is for people who are more into opera than I do: How do you react to this video. I'm really interested in hearing everyone's opinion. I think it's real problem that plagues modern stagings of operas

“What’s the worst that could happen?!”
*ALL THE LIGHTS AND ELECTRONICS SUDDENLY GO OUT AS MOZART’S DON GIOVANNI OVERTURE BLASTS THROUGHOUT THE ROOM AT A DEAFENINGLY LOUD VOLUME*
“Oh FUCK!!!!! What was THAT????!!!!!” *shattering glass as brandy snifter falls to the floor*
“The worst, I assume?”
“Silence, Peon!”
How successful would Don Giovanni…
…be if they decided to become a pro-wrestler?

Camille Saint- Saens
I mostly like the music of Saint-Saens and until recently I'd thought that he'd only written one opera, that being Samson and Delilah. Also, you only ever hear one lovely aria from that opera, "Mon cœur s'ouvre à ta voix". So although he's pretty well known, in opera terms he's pretty much only known for the above mentioned piece. I think that he composed 13 operas, so I've dug up some excerpts from a few of those other works.
