She works in the homicide department, noted as a dumping ground for cops nobody wants to be around, because of her poor social skills and uncompromising sense of justice (as in she won't "go along" with other cops' corruption).

Any other details:

Her eyepatch is because of her cybernetic eye being oversensitive, with her brain needing to adjust to the new eye. Since it's only been a few months since she had the surgery, that's apparently still expected for people with new implants, but as more chapters come out and the timeline progresses, still needing the eyepatch might suggest she has neurological issues making it harder for her to tune out sensory information than a neurotypical person.
