So in my mind there’s a huge age gap between Bellerophon and Oeneus… which then led me to the idea that an adult, seasoned Bellerophon became friends with the boy king Oeneus, so I imagine them to have the same vibe as Russian tsar Peter I the Great and King Louis XV lol

i just think it holds so much potential - Oeneus not even being able to fight back when he's overthrown and imprisoned because he's so old and so overcome by grief - having heard of Tydeus' death only a month or so ago. Rotting in that prison cell for years and years on, longing for his children, even the ones before Tydeus and his little brother.

And then after an indiscriminate amount of time the doors to his prison open, and it's Tydeus' eyes that greet him, Tydeus face contorting into confusion and worry, brows furrowing just as Tydeus' used to do. What else is he meant to think that his son, his precious son and heir, has returned to him from the dead.

Shes the sister of Capaneus - blasphemus, hot headed Capaneus

She comes to a kingdom where nearly the entire royal family has died with the exception of the king and he is in need of an heir so he marries her

In some version she is either a prisoner of war/ war bride or exiled and send to the king to be killed because she's unweddedly pregnant

She has one or two kids who both die

Her new husband is old and weak and may be inclined to drink

She may be queen or kings consort but her husbands brothers are scheming against him so she has to be on guard

Whether or not if she survives her children and husband is another question

Oeneus, however, who had recently lost son and wife, was unwilling to slay Periboea, but married her instead and begat a son Tydeus.
