BREAKING: The man brutally murdered by ICE in Minneapolis today FOR NO REASON has been identified as 37-year-old Minneapolis resident and American CITIZEN Alex Jeffrey Pretti.
Alex was a registered nurse with NO CRIMINAL RECORD and only a few parking tickets to his name. He was an athlete and avid outdoorsman. He was a brother and a son. He worked for the VA, where he cared for veterans' health. He was an ICE observer who was legally filming the ICE agents’ actions when he was stopped, detained, DISARMED, and THEN shot several times by ICE agents.
Alex had a legal permit to carry a firearm and multiple videos of the killing clearly show that he did not draw his weapon or brandish it at ICE agents. Apparently, the Second Amendment only applies to Republicans.
He was ONLY filming when they approached him, and was ONLY holding his camera.
ICE agents had taken his weapon from its holster BEFORE they shot him.
He was being pinned down and brutally beaten by a mob of ICE agents when they shot him FOR NO REASON.
It was MURDER.
It's worth highlighting the fact that Pretti is a legal citizen and has an address listed in South Minneapolis. The Trump administration has flooded our streets with undertrained, overweight, bloodthirsty, masked enforcers under the pretext of rounding up violent undocumented migrants. In practice, they're targeting and executing innocent Americans.
It's absolutely paramount that we spread the truth about Pretti far and wide because Homeland Security is already rushing to falsely smear him as an attempted mass shooter. The official DHS account on X wrote that he "wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement." They're absolutely shameless with their lies. We won't fall for it.
Rest in power, Alex.

Prompt 23 - Occupy
@jegulus-microfic March 23, Word count 655
Previous part First part
Regulus was seething again now that he’d left the relative sanctuary of the Gryffindor dorm room. Barty had crossed him for the last time.
Still hidden beneath the cloak, Regulus held up the map, tapped it with his wand and whispered. “I solemnly swear that I am up to no good,” Hw watched as the inky lines spread out from when the tip of his wand touched the parchment and began to scan the little scrolls moving about the castle.
It took him all of ten seconds to find all the names he wanted, and it seemed luck was on his side. All four of them were in his dorm room.
It seemed strange to be returning to the Slytherin common room as he’d spent almost no time in it for the last few weeks. Thankfully, the password was the same. He had no idea what he’d do if it had changed and no one had told him. He climbed the stairs to his dorm room, still hidden under the invisibility cloak. He opened the door and four sets of eyes turned to face him. Three of them were confused, but Pandora waved at him.
“Hello, Regulus,” she said sweetly. He whipped the cloak off, his wand pointing directly at Barty.
“Hello, Pandora,” Regulus replied, a smile spreading across his face. He deadened his eyes and saw the tremor that shook through Barty as he stared at Regulus’s disconcerting expression. “Might I occupy a moment of your time?” Regulus asked, the smile still firmly on his face. Barty swallowed loudly.
“Y-y-yeah, s-s-sure, Reg,” Barty laughed nervously, raking his hand through his already messy hair.
“Care to explain why on earth you thought it the correct course of action to not only include yourself in my private business, of which I told you to stay out of, but you involved the others with your ridiculous need to vex me,” His voice was even, deadly. Barty’s eyes darted around the room before they returned to Regulus, and he gave him a weak smile.
“I thought it would be fun for us all to be animagi. I had no idea your boyfriend was one until I saw him with you, and I’m sorry, but what the fuck is with Lupin being a werewolf?!” Barty got braver the longer his jaw was flapping.
“Which is exactly why I told you to keep your noses out of my business,” Regulus growled, adjusting his hold on his wand. Barty shifted in his seat.
Regulus gritted his teeth as he ran through every painful curse he had in his repertoire. Until he remembered something Barty had told him when he’d caught him and James together. His smile turned wicked as he addressed Dorcas.
“Cas, do you remember when someone put that potion in your shampoo?” Dorcas’s eyes narrowed.
“Yes?” Regulus nodded towards Barty.
“He did it,” Barty’s face lost all its colour as he realised what Regulus had done.
“Crouch!” Dorcas screamed and leapt to her feet, charging across the room at Barty. Barty ran as fast as his feet would take him and lunged for the door. They could hear Dorcas’s shouts and Barty’s screams the entire time. She chased him out of the common room.
“Harsh, Reg,” Evan sighed as he put the bedside table back on its end after Barty had knocked it over.
“This was fun. Bye, Regulus,” Pandora danced her way out of the dorm room, pausing long enough to peck a kiss on his cheek and giggled down the corridor. Regulus walked to the door.
“Pandora, I need you on the seventh floor after dinner, please,” he called after her. “Tell Dorcas when she comes back,”
“Already did,”
Regulus shut the door. He’d long ago stopped questioning Pandora.
“So seventh floor sounds fun,” Evan huffed. Regulus let the back of his head knock against the door before grabbing a change of clothes. He needed a shower.
