Here Mountain, Mountain by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While at a roadside pullout along U.S. Route 64 with view looking to the west-southwest to ridges and peaks present with the Brazos Cliffs in the Tusas Mountains. What I wanted to capture with this image was a zoomed in view to those cliffs, but include some foreground interest along the mountainside, leading up to them. The rest was balancing the overcast skies above which would be a color contrast to complement the earth-tones in the lower portion of the image.

I First Fell as a Snowflake in the Mountains of Colorado by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: I First Fell as a Snowflake in the Mountains of Colorado During the cold winter days and nights, I meet other snowflake friends We played and skied and did all the fun snow type adventures Soon though, I noticed to change in the sun and felt a warmth coming That season of change, you might even say So I became water along with so many other snowflakes We joined together to form a river, a Grande one at that We all headed south through the gorges and valleys and scenic mountain passes So many cities and places I plan to visit as I float on by One day I noticed this bridge with a person taking in the view He captured an image of my friends from way up high Saying hello, we continued our journey through New Mexico to Texas And finally this Gulf of Mexico Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one afternoon while taking in view on the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. The view is looking to the north at the Rio Grande it flowed by. The poem is me imagining the story of a drop of water and the the journey it took from the headwaters of where the Rio Grande starts and then a journey as it flowed on by through Colorado and into New Mexico where I was that afternoon. In composing this image, I steadied myself on the bridge and then aligned myself to have the river centered with the canyon and gorge walls on both sides. I also wanted to angle my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward and bring the horizon higher into the image, creating a sweeping view looking up the gorge. I also liked the mountains of the Sangre de Cristo Range and Taos Mountains as a backdrop.

We Should Share Silence Hand in Hand by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: We Should Share Silence Hand in Hand Not because I don't want to hear you It's because I actually want to listen to you So maybe by stopping, I will take note And see all the wonderful things about you A cool Autumn breeze blowing across a grassy meadow Smells from evergreens on a distant hillside Brazos Cliffs rising in the mountains So I have taken note and will remember What you said and what I experienced and received Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one afternoon in northern New Mexico at a roadside pullout along U.S. Route 64 with a view looking to the northwest. What I wanted to capture with this image was setting was a look across a grassy meadow as it went down a hillside and then across two more distant ridges and peaks of the Tusas Mountains with the Brazos Cliffs, more or less in the image center. I loved the idea of just listening and watching the simple beauty to my front that day. The rest was just pulling back on the focal length to bring out a wide-angle feel for the image capture and then angling my Nikon SLR camera to capture a sweeping view to my front.

I had corn porridge with suluguni cheese and lettuce. 6/10. I mean, it's fine. 乁⁠ ⁠˘⁠ ⁠o⁠ ⁠˘⁠ ⁠ㄏ
