20 Minutes a Day.
Welcome to my first post! I don’t know if anyone will read this, or even care. But I guess I’ll throw my thoughts to the internet, since some people have seemed interested.
Starting yesterday, I decided to embark on a not-a-near-years-resolution project. I say it’s not a resolution because, frankly, I hate new years resolutions. They’re usually vague, and they’re often not followed. This is a project that, coincidentally, started on New Years Day, 2021.
The goal is (at least) 20 minutes of productive activity. For me, “Productive” means that the action needs to be moving my life in the direction I want it to go. ‘Maintenance’ stuff (for me, this is showering, eating meals, going to work, etc) doesn’t count. What I do has to move my life in a direction. Beyond that, there’s no specific rules.
The 20 minutes is also more of a guideline. If something takes a little less or a little more, that’s fine. The main idea is that, even with my depression, 20 minutes is still attainable. The main point is to always be moving my life in a good direction. The specific time was inspired by “Unfuck Your Habitat,” a book by Rachel Hoffman. I haven’t read all of it yet, but I highly recommend it. You can purchase it here --> https://www.unfuckyourhabitat.com/get-the-book/
If you’re still reading this, thanks for coming on this trip with me. I hope maybe other people will find this inspirational, or at least just interesting.
Sending love,
20
