161 years ago today, the first Juneteenth was celebrated in Galveston, Texas, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

But 161 years is such a short time.

June 12th, 2016. 2:02 AM, Latin Night. This is when the horrific attack on Pulse Nightclub occurred.

Today, we remember the names of the 49 queer and trans people whose lives were tragically lost, along with the many more who were injured.

Pride doesn't always have to look like parades and big social events!

Volunteering with your local queer orgs, supporting queer artists, and simply giving yourself permission to honor your identity are all ways to celebrate Pride.
