#non binary issues

The thread is a bit... academic and overly broad at times but I think if you were someone born in the 80s or earlier 90s you probably can relate to it.

I know for me, the only “queerness” I was really exposed to despite being active in the communities I was able to have access to was essentially “gay” or “straight ally” there wasn’t any talk of transgender or non-binary identities, or even other sexualities aside from straight/gay (yeah not even bi). And at home my parents were strong believers in gayness/transgenderness being a choice at best or a mental illness at worst.

Despite all the issues with TERFs and anti-transgender laws popping up, etc, I feel like younger people are so lucky to exist in a world where there’s not only more acceptance (at least in online spaces), but simply awareness.

I’m so accustomed to wearing a purse and having a hard time parting with it when I dress more masc. I do have a backback purse and a more feminine backpack. So I guess I have invest in another more gender neutral bag for going out.

most of the world and systems that we have now are working to deny our existence and hurt us, that does not become morally correct just because the person who is invalidating you is on twitter and calls themselves a transsexual. and I hate that we have regressed so fast that diet transmed ass rhetoric is hard to push back against. they will say the same things you would see kalvin garrah say but slip in a cissexual here and there to pretend they are clocking shit.

you gotta stop debating and arguing with people who shit on other trans people like that. makes them think that their takes are legitimate and worth putting on an equal playing ground. you do not need to entertain convos with people who think being gendered correctly is a privilege you have to earn. most of them do not have that much energy and bass in their voice when it comes to cis people, genuinely.
