nikandros is horrible at card games (even more than damen) but auguste likes to play so despite knowing that he will most definitely lose, nikandros still plays with him and loses miserably.

sometimes nikandros looks at laurent and then he looks at auguste and he’s relieved that auguste is collected, smart, reasonable and charming unlike laurent who–in nikandros’ opinon–is cunning, illogical (dressing up to fool the enemy? are you kidding?) and heartless (he’ll never forget what he had done to damen’s back). But he’s slowly tolerating him since laurent IS auguste’s brother and auguste is constantly saying how great laurent is, how proud he is of laurent, etc etc etc

When auguste is tired, he doesn’t talk much. sometimes nikandros only need to ask “tired?” and after nodding, nikandros would wrap him in a blanket, scoop him up and lay him on the bed and auguste would wrap his arms around nikandros and pull him close or else nikandros would leave him alone (he thinking auguste would rest better that way). auguste actually likes to cuddle with him.
