You dance for the devil as he sits and watches. His eyes burn into you. No music, only the beat playing in your head. You force the bright lights of the room to fade, try to imagine the VIP room, imagine the smoky club, the feel of the base through walls as he forces you to stare into his soft blue eyes. 

You peel your satin robe from your shoulders slowly. It falls swiftly to the floor, pooling at your feet. The straps of your gown go limp, sliding down your shoulder, but you don’t let them fall. You can’t. Not yet. 

The thought that you were ready to get this over with evaporated the moment he commanded that you dance for him.  

“Turn around,” Bucky commands, motioning with a swirl of his finger. You say nothing and do as you’re told. 

The feel of his eyes doesn’t leave, etching through your gown  as you continue to dance for him.

“Do you remember what I asked you to do?” 

He lets the question hang. You didn't forget. It was an impossible task, and after you ran, you were sure it would be even harder to achieve now.

There is no way Tony would let you show up and not interrogate you. There’s noway Pepper won’t take advantage of your absence. She’ll make sure Tony takes what little custody you have of your daughter away again, and now you have even less money than before to fight them. But that was a headache for another day the devil before you would do much worse, could do worse.

“Get me the name of the informant.” He reminds. “Easy, right?”

“I’ll get you the name—I promise, Bucky—whatever you want, I’ll—I’ll do it.” Your words tangle on your tongue as his hands clamp your hips pulling you closer. The sudden press of his nose tracing your lower back locks every vertebra in place.

You continue to dance, awkwardly, helpless, he lightly kisses your gown. Don't fight. Just get through this. The mantra screams inside your skull until your will goes silent, and you let him.

”I know.”
