Recently started following more queer tags and like- we realized thay apparently our worldview of "if you dont understand it, you can learn, if you still dont understand it, that doesn't mean its not vaild." And "live and let live" isn't common??
What do you mean a lot of people see all masc gendered people as evil? Thats stupid.
What do you mean a lot of people think you shouldn't use contradicting labels? Labels are supposed to help describe your experience to others, you arent supposed to force people to fit into labels.
What do you mean people dont see gender non conforming people as valid?? Gender identity, gender expression, and gender presentation are all connected, yes, but they are separate things.
What do you mean people think NB-spec people arent valid unless they present androgynous or medically transition?? Thats stupid.
What do you mean people say theyre 'reclaiming' slurs by using them as slurs? Thats not how it works, youre supposed to use them in a friendly manner to make it hurt less when its actually used against you.
What do you mean some people think transandrophobia and androphobia arent real or okay to do? Just because androphobia isnt systematic oppression doesn't mean its not bigotry.
What do you mean you think talking about negative experiences with other queer folks is wrong and queerphobic? The issue isnt that they're queer, its that they were being harmful. People shouldn't have to be afraid of talking about being abused because the abuser was queer.
What do you mean people think someone being a shitty person makes it okay to misgender them?
What do you mean people think that just because someone's gender and/or pronouns dont make sense to you or you don't think it's valid means that its okay to misgender them???
What do you mean people think that aromatics and asexuals arent valid?
What do you mean people think cis-het polyamorous people arent queer? My dad is polyamorous, cisgender, and is a femme-pref pansexual (as in, when he described his experience to us, he described it as liking femaligned and feminine presenting people, so like femboys, femenby, tomboys, etc. we informed him of the term 'gynosexual', bit let him know that he can use whatever labels he wants bc that's how labels work.) And for the longest time he said he didnt feel like he 'belonged' in the queer community even if he was apart of it, so he just said he was an ally (he hangs up his pride flag alongside his veteran flag bc he's a veteran, which is probably what keeps our conservative next door neighbors from trying to tear it down.)
What do you mean people try to force NB-Specs to identify as transmasc or transfem?? What do you mean people try to force them to Identify as TMA or TME?? (Which mean Transmisogyny-affected and transmysogyny-exempt respectively, which we had to Google bc we kept seeing the term.)
What do you mean people think trans men are privileged and arent affected by misogyny and transphobia???
What do you mean people think that headcanoning characters as different genders or Sexuality is wrong?? What do you mean people genuinely get mad if you have a different headcanon from them and/or call a headcanon that's highly supported by in-universe context canon and say that anyone headcanoning differently is wrong and should be bullied? (Looking at a lot of trans-fem Ralsei supporters especially on the deltarune subreddit... though I personally like headcanoning ralsei as genderfluid or some other NB-Spec identity, and like seeing other people's interpretations, including transfem lol)
What do you mean people think that intersex people shouldn't be included in queer discussions or that they arent affected by transphobia and queerphobia??
What do you mean people think that Transphobia, sexism, racism, transmysogyny, transandrophobia, gender essentialism, and other close minded views arent connected?
Honestly, venturing into the depths of the internet and finding oit about infighting and all the close-mindedness is really weird.
Anyway, we're sick rn, probably because we accidentally swallowed a lot of lake water while going swimming yesterday. Feel free to post discussions in the comments, we might reply and add to the convo. Also feel free to reblog with more additions and tags to help spread this discussion.
