It's MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Mother's Day to some of the greatest mothers in Star Wars, and also RIP to you all.
From top to bottom, left to right, all in chronological order:
Shmi Skywalker, you loved your son and believed giving him up to Qui-gon Jinn was the best thing for him. You lived a hard life as a slave, glad you got to have some happiness being married to Cliegg. Probably would have been better if you got to live on Coruscant with Anakin, but you know, Jedi rules and all that.
Padme Naberrie Amidala. This one is hard because you didn't get to raise your children. But it's clear you loved them, and would have been a great mother. Leia and Luke both took after you in different ways, and you were right about Anakin all along--there was still good in him.
Nala Se. People may hate you for being a complex person who's done some things. But's what actually makes you interesting. But you get on this list because you lied, committed sabotage, sat silently in prison for about a year, and finally destroyed all your research and sacrificed your life so your daughter could have freedom with her brothers.
Breha Organa. A dedicated Queen of Alderaan, beloved by her people. Brave, and empathetic, and a good ear to her daughter Leia's concerns. You served your people as a leader should, and fought against the Empire, which took your life.
Princess Leia. The GOAT. Amazing general, Rebel fighter. Like Nala Se, not always a mother that made the best decisions for her son, but they were not done out of malice but misunderstanding, and of course Palpatine getting into your son's head. Another complex mother that made the best decisions she could with what knowledge she had. You died for love of your son, Ben Solo, that he would understood he was in fact loved, and could return to the Light.
Miramir. A mother we know little about prior to her life on planet Hyperkarn, but we know Rey got her knack of fixing things from her. You did your best to save Rey from Ochi of Bestoon. Like a lot of mothers on here, you had limited options and knowledge, and had to make do, even if it led to your daughter have a crappy early life, that was kinda on Sheev and Ochi.
Anyways, Happy Mother's Day to the Dead Mothers of Star Wars. This probably isn't even all of them.
