This particular scene in Dogs in the Dead of Night Chapter 3 is so funny cause Annieâs all like: âWe might be a little bit small but weâre still serious adventurersâ and Brother Michael is like âWtf you guys arenât even in your 10âs yet where are your parentsâ like this adventure happened in real time, right? How was no one concerned on what a bunch of little kids was doing in a place with a high casualty rate? đ
I think the Magic Treehouse series would be amazing if it got like an adult show adaption where Jack and Annie are aged up to like 15-16 cause like why 8??? You couldâve at least aged them up to 10 or 12 yeesh.
Thereâs got to be a term to describe that like. Extremely specific era of childrenâs literature where all the books were novellas printed on low quality paper, pumped out on a near monthly basis, and made for series that sometimes stretched into hundreds of books
Animorphs. Goosebumps. Bailey School Kids. Babysitterâs Club. Magic Treehouse. Series that plague public libraries and second hand book stores to this day. A genre that was nearly wiped out overnight by the success of Harry Potter, and the newfound desire for kids to read long form literature
