After her parents are killed in a tragic car accident, 13-year old Mabel Pines is sent to live with her two great uncles in a sleepy town called Gravity Falls that resides in Oregon.

While she’s still pretty fucking traumatized from losing her parents, Mabel is also pretty excited because she’ll get to meet her estranged twin brother who she never met before as they were separated at birth.

When she gets there, she’s expecting a happy reunion: her grunkles asking if she’s okay, telling her sweet assurances to ease her withered heart, her brother crying tears of joy as he embraces her and her embracing him back with enough waterworks to fill 2 swimming pools. She’s always wanted to share an awkward sibling hug with her bro-bro!

Instead, the only interaction they ever have is a quick glance as her Grunkle Stan shoves a blue dress with black trimmings into her arms and tells her to get ready for “tonight’s show”.

This wasn’t the reunion she was expecting. The dress was cute, but something about the headband piece with a blue gem that seemed to glow made her feel uneasy. At the “show”, Grunkle Stan introduces her to the audience as the “Shooting Star”.

Mabel doesn’t like this. The lights are too bright, she tries to make herself shrink as hundreds of eyes look upon her. Judging her? Adoring her? She didn’t care, her stage fright was crippling. If it weren’t for her Grunkle’s big meaty hand holding her in place, she probably would’ve tripped and fell like a dummy. And is she suffering from heatstroke or is her hair literally turning white in front of her very eyes???

We were sitting on top of a bridge watching the night sky when I had to leave the server. I said goodbye and left. Now I seriously regret not friending them because even though it’s been 3-4 years, those guys still legitimately haunt me.

Probably lmao. I like to think of Stan, Ford, Dipper, Mabel, and Baby Bill as this huge group of freaks who walk around New Jersey being the weirdos that they are.
