Some more info on this hypothetical game:

There are three main gameplay modes: Classic Mode, Knockout Mode, and Rapport Mode.

Classic mode is the standard fighting game style, where you both have HP, and the first one to lose all their HP loses.

Knockout mode is like Smash, where you need to get your opponent off the stage to win.

Rapport Mode is where you have to destroy more terrain than your opponent within the time limit. You can focus solely on terrain, or attack your opponent for boosts for you and penalties for them.

Stages are usually 3D, but there are also 2D variations of each one.

Each character has their own unique Story Mode, explaining how they wound up in Book Rapport, and showcasing their interactions with the other characters. Each Story Mode also has its own boss at the end. Firestar's boss is Tigerstar, Sherlock Holmes' is Moriarty, Frankenstein's Monster's is Victor Frankenstein, and so on.

There are several items that can appear in the stages, though they can be toggled on and off. One such item is the Stone Tablets. These are based on the IRL stone tablets detailing the Epic of Gilgamesh. Collect all of them during a round, and you can summon Gilgamesh to fight alongside your character for a short time.

Stages include Fourtrees (Warriors), Elsinore (Hamlet), The Magic Tree House (Magic Tree House), Baker Street (Sherlock Holmes), The House (House of Leaves), and many more.
