man, whenever I stop being mad at kishimoto I take a few minutes to wrack my brain for a single serious fight a woman unambiguously won against a man by herself. and that usually keeps me going for another month or so.

A More reasonable complaint I have about Temari in the shikamaru novel is. Temari would NOT attribute ALL of her brother's growth to. Naruto. Sure she'd be thankful for his help and friendship and all, but. "He was essential to the village and the world, ALL thanks to Naruto"? Yeah? We think Temari would say that? We think Temari wouldn't give HER BROTHER credit for his OWN character arc, of which Naruto took part in. one day of? Naruto may have prompted Gaara to FINALLY reflect on his actions and behaviors, but SHE and Kankuro were the ones that helped him GROW after Naruto planted that seed. And GAARA was the one that did all the growing! He did that! She's so proud of him!! Temari would NEVER undermine that effort by attributing it all to Naruto.

The thing is that to Minato, Kakashi is a solider not a child, except for when he is. And SOMETIMES that line gets blurry to everyone not privy to his insane mental gymnastics, but sometimes the lines are VERY clear, and yeah. When Kakashi is asleep, he is a Child NOT a Solider, and Minato turns into like a demented guardian angel until his favorite little killing machine wakes up. But of course kakashi is asleep so he doesn't consciously remember any of it, only the ghost of comfort. He isn't aware of how protective and paranoid his sensei is when it comes to him, but LITERALLY everyone else in the world VERY much is. Minato should write a book on parenting he's got that shit down.

RTN for Sakura is still SO funny cause it's like. 'its a wonderful life' but the opposite. DON'T be careful what you wish for sakura you're right. T&I catches an enemy shinobi with DID who kicks a yamanaka out of their head, and everyone is loosing their shit because they've never seen this happen before what are they gonna do???? and then Ino gets to work (late, she got caught up in an argument with Sakura for one reason or another in the middle of the street) and wonders what the big deal is. and then just goes into the prisoner's mind, cuase she's been training to not get caught slacking like she did in the chunnin exams ever again.

Like a big thing to remember is….Konoha has been around for like 70 years. And Hiruzen was president for like 40 of them. 2 of the other hokage died young enough to still be optimistic and naively arrogant about their abillity to do ANYTHING, and the other is. tobirama. What can we HONESTLY expect out of Hiruzen at that point.

I think that Kakashi's insistance on being. such an annoying bastard comes from an actual place of him wanting people to be just as unwilling to talk to him and him being able to maintain his air of mystery 'what is wrong with that guy', but he doesn't want people to actually be AFRAID of him like they are in ANBU. like people don't talk about how weird he is. they talk about how every time someone dies on a mission with him it's because he killed them. He would really appreciate if people started commenting on all the attention-seeking bullshit behavior he pulls instead of calling him a comrade killer. No, I didn't kill that guy, but I DID bark at the wall after I bumped into it. please talk about that instead OwO. (He doesn't realize that his weird ass behaviour just makes him seem more unhinged to the people already scared of him. It only makes him seem silly goofy to the people that already either don't take him seriously or know he isn't a threat to them. This is part of why team 7 seems so fucking insane.)!

a passing shinobi sees *the yellow flash* looking nervous and scared on the sidewalk and immediately flags down the nearest ANBU cause some SHIT must be going down for that to happen. and the ANBU arrives to one Namikaze Minato yelling at his student (who he lost while shopping for. 3 minutes) about practicing better safety procedures while the kid makes his way through an entire mountain of dango sticks sitting in front of him.
