Bartylily but it's Barty teaching Lily that she doesn't always have to be perfect at everything, that sometimes a little rule-breaking can be fun.
Bartylily but it's Lily showing Barty that not everything he does has to be an act of rebellion, that sometimes being 'normal' isn't so bad.
Bartylily but it's them reminding each other that they don't have to be 'the most' â the most perfect, the most crazy. That they just have to be themselves. That they'll love each other for it.

im going to do both of these about waterlily or lilykiller, ur choice. (both which is one of my fav rarepairs)
ssoooo
may i please have đ„ for one of the above (or waterlilykiller), and its regulus/barty getting into some sort of fight for lilys honor, and lily calms regulus/barty down and patches them up if their hurt.
could i also have đŠ for one of the ships.
Thank you!! I'll do you a solid and do Lilykiller for đ„ and Waterlily for đŠ! I'm not too familiar with either of these ships, so I apologize if the dynamic's off/weird, but I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone and write more stuff.

Lily had just finished rinsing the dishes when she heard the knock. It was sharp, hurried, and unmistakably familiar. She dried her hands quickly and opened the door, her breath catching the moment she saw him.
Barty stood there, bloodied and bruise. A gash ran across his cheekbone, his lip was split, a bruise was already blooming along his jaw, and his knuckles were scraped raw. Blood splattered his shirt and she could tell by the look in his eyes that there was anger simmering below the surface.
"Merlin," she breathed, pulling him inside and shutting the door behind him. "What happened?"
Barty didn't say anything. He let her guide him to the kitchen table, where he collapsed into a chair with a grunt. Lily grabbed the muggle first aid kit she kept under the sink. There were certain things she didn't trust magic to heal and there was something strangely comforting about cotton gauze and antiseptic.
She knew Barty, knew the way he carried himself, knew the way he turned sharp and cold when someone crossed a line. And she knew without asking that whatever happened had something to do with her.
"Avery, at the pub, he called you a... well, I don't want to say it-"
"He called me a Mudblood?"
Barty winced. "Yeah, that," he said, his voice low. "Said I was tainting myself by being with you. So I punched him."
She didn't speak, just wiped away the blood. "You didn't have to do that," she said quietly. "I've been called worse, love."
"I know, I know. But I hate it. No one should say that kind of stuff about you."
"Well, I appreciate it," Lily smiled. "Now, give me your hand."
She began wrapping his knuckles, her fingers grazing his as she did. She could tell he was watching her, waiting for her to break down. But after spending 11 years of her life being bullied for her blood status, she'd built up a rough exterior. It still hurt, but she had learned not to let it get to her.
When she finished, she sat back on her heels and looked at him. "Thank you for standing up for me. For caring that much. But you don't have to bleed for me to show that you love me."
He reached out and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. "I know. But I'd do it again."
"You're an idiot, Barty," she laughed.
"Ah, but I'm your idiot."
Lily leaned her forehead against his for a moment, letting the quiet settle between them. Bartyâs breath was still uneven, but the fury in his eyes had died.
Pressing a kiss to his cheek, she stood and moved to the counter. âCoffee?â she asked, already reaching for the tin.
He nodded, rubbing his bandaged knuckles. âStrong.â
She brewed it the way he likedâdark, no sugar, just a splash of milkâand set the mug in front of him. He wrapped his hands around it, letting the warmth seep into his skin.
âPromise me you'll take care of yourself? I can't keep having you show up covered in bruises. I deal with that enough at work. I come home to rest, not treat my boyfriend's wounds.â
He nodded, reluctantly. âIâll try. For you.â
âGood,â she said, pressing a kiss to his temple. âNow drink your coffee before it gets cold.â
He picked up the mug and took a sip, wincing slightly as the heat hit his split lip. âStill worth it,â he muttered.
đŠ
(This is probably gonna be short because this is a ship I usually don't read for, but I do have some thoughts)
Their idea of a perfect date/day would be go to coffee shop -> go to a museum -> go to a bookstore -> pick up a plant -> go home
Regulus exclusively wears black and Lily wears a TON of colors. She tries to get Reg to add some color to his wardrobe, which he unwillingly does by wearing "fun socks" (okay, they're not actually that fun, they're just not black)
Regulus plays the piano and Lily sings
They're both very artsy, so they paint and draw together a lot
Lily makes the BEST chocolate chip cookies in the world, but she ONLY makes them when Regulus needs cheering up (or for special occasions)
Lily doesn't take shit from anyone and she WILL stand up for herself and Regulus if anyone says anything. Regulus is really shy, so he's thankful that Lily has more courage than he does.
This was actually a lot of fun!! I feel like Bartylily/Lilykiller is growing on me... might have to read a fic...
Barty grunted the question in disgust, even while fingers tangled domestically in his brown and green curls, his head resting in the lap of the owner of said fingers.
âHow do you mean?â
Was Lilyâs only response, her movements not ceasing, and Barty could tell she was smirking, despite his closed eyes.
âI used to be a badass.â The Slytherin teen scorns indignantly, and Lily taps him on the nose carelessly. He did have a point. Barty was infamous in Hogwarts, given his fanatic nature, and sometimes frenzied state, not to mention his sleeping with at least half of the people in his year.
Despite all of that, here he was, using the head girlâs thigh as a pillow while she played with his hair, braiding it like he was Pandora or Mary.
âYouâve shattered my reputation.â
Ignoring the bitterness behind Bartyâs complaints, Lily laughs, and immediately sheâs forgiven in Bartyâs eyes. She leans down and kisses him, and he canât remember why she needed forgiving at all.
âMarry me.â He croaks out when she breaks the kiss, his voice breathless and hollow.
Both freeze momentarily. Barty had been planning to propose, yeah, but not nearly this soon. He didnât even have a ring, for Christâs sake. That didnât seem to deter Lily, because he can hear the smile in her voice before he even opens his hazel eyes to meet her green ones.
âOf course.â Lily murmurs softly, and she kisses him again. Barty noted that sheâd done that after each question.

I have not written in AAAAGESS. This felt good to get out.
Lily Evans. Head girl, amazing friend, one of the smartest girls in their year. One of the toughest, too. Never broke the rules, if she could help it.
So when Barty found her a short ways into the Forbidden Forest one night, well past curfew, when he was just exploring to let off some steam, he was shocked.
Even more so when he realized the tear that rolled down her cheek. Followed by another, followed by another. He stayed away, for a moment. He didnât want to upset her, or frighten her. But then he remembered, hell, sheâs already crying. It canât possibly get worse.
So he called her name quietly, announcing his presence. He wasnât surprised, when she wiped her face hastily, fixing her hair and greeting him with a smile. It was almost tooconvincing. He wondered if she did that often. Hid away her negative emotions from those around her, to the point it became natural.
âDonât bother. I already know somethingâs wrong.â
The boyâs voice was wry, but far from unkind, and he tipped his head slightly, silently asking if he could sit. Lily looked away, but she nodded, so he did. He kept his distance, but stayed close enough to be present.
âYou donât have to tell me, if you donât want to. But I will ask whatâs happened.â Again, Bartyâs voice was quiet and gentle. More so than Lily had ever heard of the usually rowdy teen. She glanced over, and her shining peridot eyes were gleaming with obvious surprise.
âItâs nothing, really.â She denied, but it was a whisper, and her voice broke. Barty tilted his head to the side, disbelief on his face, written in plain handwriting, even in the dark of the forest.
âEvans, youâre hiding in the Forbidden Forest. Iâve never even seen you near here. You donât have to tell me why youâre upset, but donât lie to me about it.â His tone was curt, and shocked her out of her act. She scoffed quietly, and the sound rang loud, in the silent clearing.
âFine.â She turned away again, and Barty feared heâd misstepped. Angered her farther. But then he heard a soft sniff. A poorly muffled sob, and he sighed softly, shifting closer to pull one of her hands into his own, the touch soothing. Barely there. Lily inhaled sharply, but Barty pretended not to notice.
âItâs just been a bad week.â Lily acknowledged after a couple minutes. The admission caught the Ravenclaw by her side off guard, but he ingested the information silently, nodding. âPetunia sent word, this last Monday.â Barty thought on that. It was Sunday. It must have been a particularly distressing letter.
âShe said I wasnât to write her anymore, while at school.â Barty stiffened, but Lily hasnât stopped. Her usually silky voice was coarse, from attempting to stay silent so long, and Barty found himself wishing she wouldnât have.
âI suppose youâd have heard about Severus?â Barty blinked. He heard plenty about the greasy Slytherin, but he wasnât sure what Lily was asking. He shook his head, and she exhaled through her teeth, gathering her thoughts.
âHe saidâŠwell, we got in a fight, you know. He called meâŠ.â
She trailed off. A sudden sniff and turn of the head suggested she wouldnât finish the sentence. She wouldnât need to. Bartyâs grip on her hand tightened slightly, but in a comforting manner, rather than an angry one, and when she looked back his way after a moment, he raised a hand to brush a stray hair from her face.
âYouâre a mess, head girl.â He teased, and Lily was so surprised she laughed, though it was watery and faint. When Barty spoke again, it was less playful. More serious.
âI will say, though, and I mean this in the worst way possible. Severus Snape is the biggest dumbfuck in our year. Donât listen to him.â Lily gasped, and he shrugged unapologetically. She shook her head stubbornly.
âDonât say that.â She implored in a whisper, but there was hesitant reverence in her eyes. Like she needed to hear more. So Barty said more.
âIâm not kidding! Nobody else speaks to him. Youâve adored him for years. Merlin knows how many. If heâs so ready to use something like that against you, he isnât worthy of your friendship.â Lily couldnât meet his eye, anymore. She was staring at the ground.Â
âYouâre wrong.â She breathed, and it was Bartyâs turn to shake his head, more emphatically than she had. He was determined, now. âHe doesnât deserve you, Evans. He never has.â Lily didnât reply for a long time, after that.
âWho does?âÂ
She broke the silence, after nearly a half an hour. Barty raised an eyebrow. Her fingers traced across his palm slowly, and he tried not to think about it. âWho does what?â He clarified, and Lily met his eye reluctantly. She looked like she wanted to flee. She wouldnât.
âDeserves my friendship. Deserves me.â Barty snorted softly, and shrugged half-heartedly. He certainly didnât know the answer to that. Nobody he knew could earn the right to befriend such a girl as Lily Evans. Maybe nobody did at all.
âYouâll have to find that out yourself.â Lily considered this, and nodded slowly, as if to herself, but her gaze stayed on Barty. On his face. On their interlocked hands. On his now distinctly kind eyes, that sheâd always found wild and frenzied in the past.
âMaybe I have.â Her response was clearly intentional. She meant the connotations behind it, when she eyed him so appraisingly as she spoke. Barty knew that. He understood what she meant, when her fingers tightened around his hand. He didnât believe she was right.
He didnât deserve Lily Evans, even if he was kind. But that didnât mean he wouldnât try to, some day.
