John didn’t know why the animals aboard the Infinity followed him around. It started with a duck named Marlowe, it quacked and quacked, following him around with little pitter-pattering of webbed feet. Lasky could barely hold in his laughter the first time John walked into a meeting, Marlowe chattering behind him. John sat stiffly throughout the entire meeting, and when it was done, John quickly exited.

The next week was even worse. John somehow picked up Marlowe and Maira’s cat- Bao, Maira was undoubtedly hiding somewhere taking pictures, Marlowe was pattering behind him, and Bao was perched on his shoulders. The scheduled meeting with Blue team ended in roaring laughter when Bao found enjoyment in chasing the light off of Kelly’s helmet.

In the end, Chief came to a meeting with Lasky with a dog named Milo, Marlowe, Bao, and a kitten named Ali curled in the divot of his chest plate. Laskey couldn’t contain his laughter, and had to take several minutes to compose himself before continuing on with the meeting. Fred called John a “Disney princess,” John didn’t quite understand, but Fred promised to show him the movies. Needless to say, the Master Chief had a way with animals.
