i think my favorite thing about the new history of the dc universe comic is that barry allen is telling the story. barry who mapped the multiverse, barry whose death changed everything, whose choices changed everything, whose origin story starts with him reading a jay garrick flash comic at work. he records the history of superheroes. and as sad as i am to see him retired I’m just as happy it’s him because this is what he probably dreamed of as a kid. the first history of a hero to be written was the life story of the flash by iris west-allen and now barry’s taking a page out of his wife’s book and i cannot stop thinking about this
