It's WOrld young Rheumatic Diseases Day! World Young Rheumatic Diseases Day - WORD Day
International Foundation for Autoimmune & Autoinflammatory Arthritis is proud to support this new awareness day, March 18th, as our three founding priorities include:
1. raising global awareness about different arthritis types and
2. to do everything we can to expedite early detection, referrals, diagnosis and treatment to improve outcomes and increase rates of remission.
3. Using our voices to impact education, advocacy, and research.
AWARENESS & EDUCATION:
Rheumatic diseases are a group of long-term, chronic inflammatory conditions of the musculoskeletal system often unknown, not only to the general public, but even to some healthcare professionals. These conditions, like Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) and systemic JIA (sJIA), lupus, spondylitis - all happen in children too!
Since these diseases are chronic, and must be managed early to improve quality of life, we must unite to use our voices to help the world understand these diseases exist.
WHAT DO YOU WANT THE WORLD TO KNOW ABOUT JUVENILE AIARTHRITIS DISEASES?
WORD Day has been organized jointly by the European Network for Children with Arthritis (ENCA) and the Paediatric Rheumatology European Society (PReS).
