Hope all the moms had a great day yesterday. We had a nice, quiet day that didn't turn out as planned but ended up lovely. My hubby had to work but I woke to snuggles from the little guy then found #gifts waiting on the table from both my hubby and my mom. Henry and I had some church and breakfast and more snuggles, we built a train, a fort in his room, and went for a #hike near our home. Chris got home early afternoon with #roses and the makings for #mimosas and #glutenfree #bagels and #lox. Mother's Day is always very bittersweet for us and it's hard for some to understand but a simple, quiet day is what works for us without a lot of fuss, people, or social media. Having Henry now helps but it is still hard, although I remember many very dark and extremely lonely Mother's Days before him, which make me all the more thankful for him. One of today's alone-time projects. Hubby got me this engraved locket for Mother's Day several years ago, before Henry, and it tarnished badly so I haven't worn it in ages. It's a double #locket I had pictures of both our #angelbabies in. It has my initials on the front and says, "We love you, Mom," on the back. 💗 I was cleaning in my bedroom and came across it in my #jewelry box and decided to be brave and clean it. Found a great recipe online and it worked great! ☆ Line a dish with aluminum foil and add jewelry. Sprinkle with 1 Tablespoon baking soda and 1 Tablespoon salt. Add 1 cup boiling water and swirl until tarnish removed. ☆ I also used a silver polishing cloth I had. It's not perfect but it was almost black before and now has kind of a vintage look, I think. I need to redo the pictures (I did an awful job before) and replace the chain that broke. I love giving shout-outs to friends or fellow small businesses and have you heard of @kay.ces? She makes amazing #memorialjewelry for little ones. I have several pieces of hers on my wish list but I was very fortunate to win this amazing #angel #necklace from her this year in a giveaway. (I actually found out I won on the birthday of my second #angelbaby if you can believe it!) She also sent me these two cute, "Mommy of an Angel" #bracelets I just cherish. Heading out on a run for our car service and took the liberty of going off dress code since my client is a regular. I wanted to wear #purple for #preemies today! And my two blue bracelets for my boys. The others on my arm signify all three of my boys; an aunt made me two of them - the first after my first baby died, the second while I was pregnant with the second and I made the third one for Henry. I have given him many extra hugs today over and over and keep telling him how thankful we are for him. Also thankful for a day that raises awareness but also honors the little miracles no longer with us.
