Although he is still on oxygen 24 hours a day, Chester has beaten the odds and is now thriving at home with his older brothers.
“He’s happy, he’s okay, [and] he’s a lovely little boy. But if I had gone by what the doctors had told me, I’d have terminated him and missed out on how he is now.
“I just want to raise awareness for other mums who might go through the same thing. I was just sent home with antibiotics and told to rest until I miscarried, and then told my baby wouldn’t survive past 48 hours.
“Another doctor said, ‘we advise you to terminate,’ there was a risk to my life, if I got sepsis. One said, ‘you’ve got a 1 percent chance of the baby surviving the week,’ and within a week I would miscarry.
“I know the doctors have to be very straight about the chances, but for us, a 1 percent chance was still a chance. I spoke to my husband and we thought, if it’s going to happen it’s going to happen, but we might as well give it a go and carry on.”
💜💜 World Prematurity Day 💜💜
My preemie babies then and now.
Tl;dr: photo dump but it's the same photo My life these days. If you haven't heard from me, this is why: Don't ask who's who - the mystery is what makes everyday exciting. Comment with your guesses 👇🏽 wrong answers only Yesterday was their due date, sooo - happy "should have been born today" day! 🎉🎉 Now we can start tracking their developmental milestones, but they're already ahead of the game! They're already rolling over and holding their heads up. And they're not crawling yet, but they are always in a different spot from where we originally left them Also, I forgot to post their 2 month photo and we're almost to 3 months old now! Oops 😬 we are now 11 weeks +2, or they're adjusted age today is 1 day old 🙃 I know they're basically the same photos, but im a proud mama 😤 Also, they're babies - they're not doing anything interesting and we can't dress them up yet because they're still too small to fit in any of the newborn clothing we have 😩 but they're almost to 6lbs now! For being born at 2.5lbs they've grown so much 😭 #twinmom #preemies #2monthsold #happy #twins #newmom #momlife #mama #babypoops #hungrybabies #mybabies #sendhelp (at Santa Rosa, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CayhZvoLZJD/?utm_medium=tumblr

The Introduction!
Hello everybody!
First of all I will begin with a basic introduction. I am a first time mom to a 25 weeker. She is currently in the NICU as i write this post. I developed hellp syndrome / preeclampsia November 30th 2020 (of course 2020 had to give me a traumatic ending to the year). I thought it was just a gas bubble and nothing more that I was walking into the hospital with. Little did I know I was about to be flown 2 hours away with a systolic blood pressure of about 200. December 4th 2020 I gave birth (emergency c-section) to a beautiful baby girl weighing 1lb 30z. I didn’t to see her for the first two days. Just as i was starting to find my hope and accept my situation, we got the news that Baby Brida has a grade 4 brain bleeed. My heart was shattered, I was numb to reality, and I was sure I was going to lose my baby.
Brida is now 2 months old (actual and 36 weeks gestational) weighing 4lbs 5oz and is thriving. I created this blog to share my story and help anyone I can experiencing preeclampsia, preemies, c-sections, and just motherhood and life in general. I am not here for followers, I just want the help I wish I had and let anyone going through what I went through to know that they are not alone. <3
