Why do I feel like every cabin has a really big purpose in camp, e.g. hephestus for the swords, athena for strategy, apollo for archery except from the big 3? Like, Leo's always off making something, Will's always in the infirmary, and Annabeth's always practising, but Nico and Percy just kinda walk around without any purpose.
Everyone wants a piece of you
For better or for worse
The Olympians
Apollo feels like being smeared in charcoal and paint, taking a deep breath and smelling the oil paint and solvent lingering in the air.
Hestia feels like the end of a college party, when everyone is lying together, slowly sobering up and talking about their hometowns.
Aphrodite feels like taking off your makeup after a long day and staring in the bathroom mirror, truly seeing yourself for the first time in a while.
Hermes feels like people watching on the bus, overhearing all the stories of people you will never meet.
Eros feels like loving something so fiercely, with so much passion, that you don't think you can live without it.
Hypnos feels like waking up from a dream that changed your view of the world, for the better.
Artemis feels like the girls you meet at parties who make sure you have a safe ride home.
Hephestus feels like spending hours meticulously building, with a clear vision in mind, but no proper measurements.
Hades feels like the hot embers burning bright on a fire that is slowly dwindling.
Dionysus feels like teaching young actors the ritualistic traditions of a theatre.
Ares feels like protesters fighting for change with unwavering strength.
Poseidon feels like learning about challengers deep for the first time and feeling yourself get entranced by the duality of the ocean.

Taking a Break From JTTW
I'm going to take a break from writing about Journey to the West for a while in favor of working on a compilation of sources about the Greco-Roman hero Heracles/Hercules. Tentatively called The Hercules Omnibus, [1] the project will gather the English translations of all Greek and Roman works about or mentioning him into a single document. But instead of forcing the reader to devise their own chronology of Hercules' life, the material will be broken up into his pedigree, conception, childhood, early adventures, the labors, side quests, death, etc. That way, readers can see the range of and agreements and differences between the various sources.
The project is first and foremost for me. I feel it will help me better understand the Greco-Roman hero, and at the same time, strangely enough, I believe it will help me better understand Sun Wukong by viewing him through the lens of a hero from a different time and culture. I've already made a list of their interesting parallels. I've even posited what a fight between them would be like.
This is not something I could ever sell since my lack of knowledge in ancient Greek and Latin would necessitate using existing (and likely copyrighted) translations. However, once finished, I plan to release the fully-cited book(?) for others to access and read freely online.
Note:
1) I am aware that "Heracles" (Ηρακλής) is his original Greek name, but the Latin "Hercules" is the more popular of the two.
