If you want to know what Will’s fatal flaw is, it’s narcissism. This is based heavily on the way Will acts and behaves in every appearance he makes. It is also heavily implied that demigods develop fatal flaws based on what their godly parent is known for. And what is Apollo known for? Arrogance and narcissism. He literally has a history of failed relationships because of the way he behaves, and with Rick trying to make it apparent that Will is like father like son, Will is in for a future of several failed relationships. Nico will not be the only one by a long shot, especially given that Will has already began this cycle by repeatedly shamelessly gawking at others right in front of Nico barely a year into the relationship.

To me it's very much a reflection of how people treat mental illness and trauma responses when they can't glamorize it, not to mention the flipside of that with how the fandom infantalizes Nico and i guess Will being a reasonable human being challenges that. Will is not annoying and bitchy, Will reacts very understandably to his environment given what hes gone through. That's a CHILD who experienced TWO WARS. plus he already had severe anxiety so of fucking course he's going to react anxiously to situations. I absolutely hate how people get pissy about Will's behavior in tartarus because im sorry, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM HIM?? OH YAY, IM SO EXCITED TO BE IN *HELL* RIGHT NOW! He was reasonably scared and was actively losing energy without the sun. Can y'all stop villainizing a child with anxiety, ptsd and ocd not to mention so much other shit??

The way people behave about his relationship with Nico is even weirder because what do you mean you're out here saying that Will is toxic, manipulative and controlling??? WHERE. WHEN. Will is stern at most, Nico has never complained or made it seem like Will is forcing him to do anything. There's nothing "controlling" about Will giving a fuck about his boyfriends health and not wanting him to DIE from overexerting himself. The thing is people exaggerate Will's disapproval of shadow travel an extreme amount aswell, Will is fine with it like half the time. He just doesnt want Nico shadowtravelling when its harmful (i.e too often, too big of jumps). Since when is caring about your loved one controlling??? Even when they do get fights, the fight is Will being worried about Nico and wanting to understand him. That all comes from a place of love.
