If you have less hope in God when you make a mistake, then realise that you're only relying on your work, not on God's Mercy.

When people die, there will be no regret over food, drink, houses or cars in the Barzakh. What they will regret is a gathering of goodness that they could have attended and yet they didn't; they will regret the little time spent reciting Qur'an; they will regret sinful actions they committed and they will regret hurting the feelings of another Muslim - these are the things people will regret in the Barzakh.

❝ If you believe Allāh is the truth, then know that He has created in the nations before us and in the nation of Muḥammad, people with enlightened faces, and he who seeks them will be enlightened with them. ❞

One of the rewards for doing a good deed is that it leads you to more good deeds, and a punishment for committing a sin is that it leads you to more sins.
