Lot chose for himself but Abram chose for not himself

Then Abram said to Lot, “Let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, for we are kinsmen. Is not the whole land before you? Separate yourself from me. If you take the left hand, then I will go to the right, or if you take the right hand, then I will go to the left.”

Abram knows that with the inheritance they have, and how men’s sinful nature works, it will not good for both of them stay together. Abram wasn’t thinking about taking all of it for himself. He knows, his brother can have whatever he wants, and they have enough to do with it to, so he suggested and not even thinking about himself, but letting his brother to make probably the destiny of where he is gonna be at, at least until God calls him and move.  Just want to point out that everytime, Him and Lot moved, Abram seems to be mentioned to set up a tent or an altar to call upon the Lord. This really shows me how Abram faith was at, not on his own accord, but God’s plan.

And indeed, God spoke to him after Lot left, and promised him that he will inherit the land to the north, south, east and west. His offsprings will be multiplied so much that they couldn’t even count. 

Jesus comes from the line of Abram(Abraham later), and God fulfilled His promise and still is fulfilling it until Jesus’ second return. God knows it and even when Abram couldn’t comprehend the magnitude of that promise from God. It’s crazy to see how it turned out.

Note to self,

Jensen, there will be time, where you doubt your promises from God. You might think that God is not answering, He is not working in any ways that you see it coming true. But do not lose heart on His faithfulness. You might just be the start of something beautiful that He has for you, or you are already are apart of something God has been promising your generations before you. You never know, don’t simply let sin and selfishness blind you from truly worshiping Our Mighty and Faithful God. He was there, He is here and He will continue to be a faithful Father to you and your surroundings. Take heart. Love. And trust in Him.
