Shoulder prehab series: video 4 of 4, part 1 of 2, push + pull superset This is the fourth Youtube video in the shoulder prehab series. I will be performing a sequence of drills I used as a warm up before an upper body lifting session. To watch the whole video, follow the link in my bio or search for "shoulder prehab" on the Kempf Fitness Professional Youtube channel. The first exercise is a half kneeling overhead press with the kettle bells in a bottoms-up position. The half kneeling set up helps prevent over extending in the spine and makes the lift easier to control. The bottoms-up position is a progression that greatly increases the difficulty and demand for shoulder stability. Perform a standard overhead press keeping the abs engaged and ribs down. The second exercise is a isometric face pull hold with external rotation as the starting position. Then follow it up with an overhead press pattern while pulling backward. This movement is a greatly progressed version of a wall slide. Face pulls are a great exercise for healthy, stable shoulders and posture.  They work the rotator cuff very well.  These can be done on a cable machine or using strength bands.  Attach a light band to a post (no need to go heavy).  Pull your arms back until your elbows are behind you.
