5/31/17 - WOD
I told myself I didn't have to go to the gym today, but then I saw there was lots of deadlifts so I said, why not? I think today was a testament to how important the gym is to my mental health. Yesterday I was in a funk and this morning I was very anxious. Like contemplating my odds of dying of Leukemia before I'm 30 anxious. For the beginning of class I felt like I might cry at any moment, so I was glad no one paid me much attention. As soon as we started the WOD though my brain cleared and my mood instantly improved. I chatted and caught up with people and left the gym is much greater spirits than I came with. The Pre-WOD was 5x5 deadlifts building weight. My max weight was 85lb. WOD was 4 rounds for time: - 200 meter run - 10 deadlifts @ 65lb - 13lb dumbbell presses - 2:00 minutes rest I finished in 16:49!
I saw an older woman working out with her son and she was working her ass off and having a great time. She was wearing a tank top that said “GET FIT GET LIT”
