“How are you still eating?” Barty groaned, cradling his stomach as the bus lurched along the road. Effie had packed all the leftovers bar a few bits for her, Monty, Sirius and Remus, and the second that Pandora had sat down in her seat, she’d opened one of the containers and was currently scoffing her way through her third jam doughnut. 

Regulus felt the same way. It was fascinating how she and Remus could put food away, but not so much when your stomach was still full from the night before. 

Effie, Monty, Sirius and Remus had all stayed in a hotel for the night and waved them off the next morning. It had been nice having them there, but he knew not to expect it every time, though he had to admit he wouldn’t say no to that either. 

James was sleeping next to him, his usually warm body even warmer with sleep. Regulus snuggled up to his side, feeling the warmth wash over him and closed his eyes, ready for a few hours of sleep. But he’d no sooner dozed off than Barty’s shrill voice jolted him awake as he argued with Evan. 

“How can you reject my offer of bus bathroom sex?!” Barty said far too loudly for such a small bus. “It was your idea!”

“I meant when no one was on it, you fucking idiot!”

“Those two were asleep, and Dora’s making out with a fucking blueberry muffin! None of them would have noticed!”

“Barty, my darling, love of my life, apple of my eye, the amount of noise you make while in the throes of lovemaking is enough to wake the dead. I don’t think Reg, James and Dora would be very happy hearing you orgasm while in a confined space.”

“Fair enough,” Barty ceded and leaned over the back of Pandora’s set to snag one of the muffins before she got to it.  

“Just an FYI,” Regulus said quietly, but he knew that everyone was listening. “If you so much as undo your zip for anything other than using the facilities as they were intended for, I have zero qualms dragging you out and throwing you out the door, whether we are moving or stationary.”

“Yes, Regulus,” all four of them chorused in scolded voices. 

“Good,” he huffed and went back to cuddling into James’s side.
