Hey y’all are there like actual online person to person welsh classes for a fuck ass American who feels stuck in their progress and relies to much on the welsh dictionary and grammar book and translators because I would like to be able to make an in depth post WITHOUT using those things for once. I feel like a fraud!
I have tried preply, the results I get are slim to none.

It's been announced that DuoLingo will stop updating Welsh courses. They've always championed endangered languages in the past but articles say they want to focus more on popular languages like Spanish and French. The following is a link to a petition to get the First Minister of Wales to work with the DuoLingo CEO and get them to save the course.
As someone who is learning Welsh, it's devastating news. Yes, there is still Say Something in Welsh and other methods, but DuoLingo is also extremely helpfull, especially for anyone who may not be able to afford all of the later courses in SSIW.
So please, signage would be most appreciated.
Duolingo will no longer update its Welsh course from the end of Oct 2023, with no further development.
This petition is to call for the F
EDIT: Please don't think you have to live in Wales to sign this! I signed and I live in Australia. Share this with your language-learning friends around the world!
Today I’d like to share about a great scheme for adults learning Welsh: “Hapus i Siarad” at
Volunteering businesses share posters offering to have a chat in Welsh with learners and to help them fill in a card to evidence the interaction. Once three conversations have been filled in on the card, the learner can send it into a raffle which will be drawn in early August 2026 at the National Eisteddfod. The prize is a residential course in Welsh!
It’s a real win-win, as learners get the chance to practice their language skills and small businesses get new customers.
Thank you very much to Flowers by Anne, Daniel Morris (Cigydd) and Siop y Siswrn in Yr Wyddgrug (Mold) for helping me to fill in my card!
If anyone is learning welsh and needs help with anything, I'm more than 100% happy to help. Send me a message or an ask and I'll try to help as much as I can.
I am from north Wales so I may have different words for things but I can provide the South word as well if you need it (and if i know it!)
Dw i ddim wedi bod yn weithgar yma am gyfnod, achos roedd rhaid i fi wneud llawer o bethau i brifysgol.
Mae dal rhaid i fi ysgrifennu fy thesis baglor a basio arholiadau. Dw i jyst yn moyn bod yn barod i fy astudiaethau meistr a dw i’n moyn cael digon o amser i ddysgu Cymraeg hefyd!
Byddwn i’n trio ysgrifennu mwy yma, ond alla i ddim gwarant e...

Today, I thought I'd share my latest Cymraeg (Welsh language) illustration - covering the seasons and the months of the year.
Some of the months can be a bit tricky to learn in Welsh... so I thought illustrating them all might help!
It's available as all sorts of prints, cards and printed to your order on all kinds of items at:
"Tymhorau a Misoedd" or "Seasons and Months" is a little Welsh language aid I've produced to help myself and others learn these words!
But
Are you learning Welsh...? Dach i'n dysgu Cymraeg...?
I'm learning Welsh... Dw i'n dysgu Cymraeg... I've just finished unit 4 of the Welsh government supported course (Dysgu Cymraeg / Learn Welsh ) via a zoom class.
...And after getting myself in a pickle assuming soft mutations only applied to place names (how wrong could I be...🤣), I wrote and illustrated this little bit of prose, with the help of a friendly Facebook group for Welsh learners.
It's now available printed on all sorts of stuff at:

What did I do in language learning today, you ask? Well, I only finished level one of SaySomethinginWelsh! Finally!! There is a whole other level that I will be going through, but this is certainly a milestone. Remember how we celebrated milestones in school? End of year parties? Lots of time off? How do you celebrate your #milestones? #iglc #language #languages #languagelearning #idiomas#langues #iaithoedd #sprachenlernen #lingue #languagechallenge#grammar #kerstinsocial #polyglot #languagelover #langspo #langblr #education #multilingual #dysgucymraeg #dysgu #progress
