The Green Man (Part 5-End)
And so when they met again
he thanked her for her counsel
and for telling him her exciting life
as a bardic minstrel.
The fairy told her his song
The song was a perfect piece.
It made Idony cry
and it was hard to cease.
It spoke of a person
who wanted to be free
but freedom is everywhere
but it’s just hard to see.
Love helps it appear
and Love is everywhere
and how we are like small children
always in It’s care.
And how it was Providence
that he found at last a friend
“I love you Idony”
said the Green Man Dorian.
Idony knew right then
that she had him at last
in singing her response
a magic spell she cast.
She wavered but a moment
but she knew she must
finish breaking the fairy’s
desperate bid of trust.
So inside of her voice
there was no longer any guilt
in breaking the friendship
together they had built.
He listened to her and felt
that he was entranced.
But he couldn’t speak and gave her
a suspicious glance.
He felt that he was being
led so very far away...
and out of the river wood
in which he was to stay.
He didn’t seem too scared
for he knew he was naive
and there was no time now
for his own life to grieve.
For now he was entranced
and there was nothing he could do
The sorceress sang back to him
“I love you too”
The magic that he had
was now mixed in with hers.
He wasn’t careful and now
she was finally his master.
She led him to the edge
the Lord was waiting there.
a borderstone had been moved
he gave a bitter glare...
The Lord said to the Lady
“You may stop, I want to speak
to the woodland fairy man
this magical, green freak...”
The Lord then said to Dorian
“I know you’re powerful
so give me all your magic
I think you will be grateful.
For my research has found
that this will make you free
and from this sylvan land
you will be free to leave.
So transfer your power
into my willing hands
It will be different now
because I will own the lands...
If you don’t, my sorceress
will cast your sorry self out
because my high-born worthiness
you did come to doubt”
Dorian said unto the
ruthless, evil Lord.
“Long I have known, sir
that you’re rotten to the core
and long I have known
I always could transfer
to another worthy being
all my magic powers...
but I could find no one worthy
to resign my powers to
but of everyone I’ve seen
the least of all, is you
though I longed to leave
this forest territory
now I change my mind
for God’s greater glory
You both think you’ve won
and left me with no choice
she may withold my power
but I still have my voice.”
The Green Man screamed a scream
one long and stunning yell
It sounded like a demon
From the darkest depths of Hell.
It shocked both pairs of ears
and the sorceress collasped
and all of her control
on Dorian relasped.
They stayed where they were
they were too scared to move
and their great cowardice
that day did prove
They got onto their knees
and begged him for his mercy.
And he showed it to them:
He turned them into trees.
He turned them into willow trees
right where they were at.
He told the people who said
they liked them there like that.
The land was was you’d call
a dominion isolated.
So no one told the King
but word got out instead
that he had abdicated
and his “nephew” took his seat
the people put him in,
for he was not a cheat.
It took quite a bit of work
but they saw that he was good
and so they moved the castle
into the deep and wild wood.
Everyone agreed that he
should be their new Lord
Who ruled kindly and wise
and never by the sword.
His friend the priest then helped
to put his good friend in.
And he was known thereafter
as the Green Lord Dorian.
He was not completely perfect
but he was kind and just.
His dominion then prospered
‘cause in God he placed his trust.
In time he met another girl
and he fell in love with her
this love was not like the first
for this love was much deeper.
She worked as a musician
and a professional singer
for she really was a bard
and so he married her.
He split half of his magic
and this to her he gave
Julia loved him very much
for she knew he was brave.
They had many children
a half-fairy family
and he lived out the rest
of his days happily.
Dorian was no longer
secluded and alone.
but he put upon his crest
a single antler bone.
to always remind himself
of the Devil’s trickery
and to always be opposed
to dark needless cruelty.
To be a guardian against
All the devil’s worldly lies.
And of all his persons and works
we must recognize.
Also of God’s goodness
of our Good Father above
for all true magic power
comes directly from His love.
Thus, I end my story
please go your merry way
Good bye, farewell, goodnight
and finally, good day.
The End

The Green Man (Part 4)
The next day was Sunday
This day he was to rest
and he composed a song
he considered it his best.
The Priest thought he would visit
and he brought Communion
so the fairy might receive it
and the priest went in and then
he found that Dorian
was as happy as could be
he was in his usual
prized mulberry tree.
He greeted the Father
and received the Sacrament
but the Priest did not share
Dorian’s merriment.
So Dorian told him all
about the skillful woman bard
the priest did not know of her
but he found it very hard
to think the Lord had sent her
this was most unusual.
But Dorian said “Her voice-
was so very beautiful...”
The good priest felt such pity
for this secluded lonely thing
whose only true pastime
was just to merely sing.
But Father made him aware
That she still seemed suspicious
“The Lord may be a monster
cruel and loud and vicious...
But the Devil is cunning
and must be very quiet
if he is to trap his reckless
victims in his net.
Be wary of the woman
and be wary of all men.
and pray that you are strengthened
by this Sacrament”
The Priest then said Mass
for all of the Woodland
and then he gave the Host
unto the Green Man.
He said “Remember Jesus Christ
is your greatest friend
and He receives all the
many prayers you send.”
The Green Man then nodded
feeling somewhat assured
for he did want to believe
the Good Priest’s every word”
He said “Yes Father
He answers all my prayers
For when I wanted truth
I found you over there
teaching a small class
how sin was our demise
you spoke of Christ and I-
asked to be baptized.
You taught me that God
does not always give
but requires of us trials
in which we must live.
If the woman’s stories
are proven untrue
At least I know that I have God
and I also have you.
Fairies might be race
that are not ordinary.
and I know my species
is mostly solitary
I will be alright
though sometimes it is hard
but I will do my only job
of of this forest guard.
He gave unto the priest
to take unto his parish
A freshly killed young deer
by the hunters perished.
And he made it invisible
so the priest could carry it
and he thanked the priest for giving
him the Eucharist.
A whole week went by
when there had been a murder
Some noblemen had killed
another wasteful hunter.
I don’t know what about
but some said that they
had made a sacrifice
to the Green Man of the Fay.
When finally the Green Man came
He saw it was too late
all that was left for him to do
was of his pain placate.
Then he imprisoned all of them
in many tangled vines
He was so very furious
and he destroyed their shrine.
And so he kept in the forest
for three terrifying days.
It was his responsibility
to make them all pay
He terrified all of them
and then sent for the priest
He called them all demonic
idiotic wild beasts.
And when the right time came
he set the nobles free
and some people then arrived
to take away the body.
He didn’t have to explain
for all was understood:
They wanted to worship
the Green Man of the wood.
A compromise to do
anything that they wanted...
An appeasement to the spirit
that the forest haunted.
He felt had to get out and go
he felt he had to leave.
But most of all he wanted
was to just be merely free
He was tied to this cursed land
with no way to get out.
The Priest then approached him
looking old and wise and stout
but then there was no easy way
to comfort him.
Because Dorian then thought
about the unwilling victim.
And he said unto the Priest
“Stay away and leave me alone!”
and out of his wild eyes
his misery had shone.
Three days came and went
but once they had gone by
the woman found the fairy
by the emerald riverside.
The Green Man had fallen
in a deep depression
She saw this and spoke
with a sense of great discretion:
“Dorian, I found you!”
I’m sorry it’s been so long
is it still okay if I tell you
my best and greatest song?
But I am so sorry
I’m sorry for everything
with everything that’s happened
we don’t have to sing...”
But Dorian was glad to see
his lady once again
“What is your name, my lady”
asked the Green Man Dorian
and so she said to him
“My name is Idony”
and he said to her
“I’m glad you came to see me”
He sang her the whole story
with a ghostly haunting tune
He told on a night
when there was a full moon
How he was warned
by a ragged mocking bird
then chanting in the wood
he then plainly heard.
She listened to his story
for he had to tell someone.
and she never interrupted
and when Dorian was done
She gave him a big hug
she said how he was brave
for how hard he tried
to of the victim save
She also said to him:
“But let us look now
right up at the sky
do you see the trees
and how they block the light?
but whatever light escapes
is pleasing to the sight?
That’s Hope that passes the gapes.
So let us be open now
in all the trials of our lives...
Let us never despair
Let us go and live and thrive.
Let us find the golden glow
that is truly meaningful
and let us go and appreciate
all that is beautiful.”
And so she help to raise
the fairy’s spirits high
and with his beloved Idony
time flew quickly by.
When it finally got dark
and she had to go home
she was quite surprised at how
much the time had flown.
The whole day they spent
at the emerald riverside.
Asking many questions
and telling of their lives...
He gave her a flower crown
and it fit like a glove.
It was pretty obvious
that the Green Man was in love.
Tomorrow she would try
her dark and magical song
so wherever she bid him to go
he would have to go along
Why! She almost felt guilty
but she knew she had a job
and this wouldn’t be the first time
a life she had to rob.

The Fears and Doubts of Writers
Sometimes I think that when I write
that this poem will be my last
like I will not always have my gift
and my limit’s been surpassed
Like my creativity will go away
my well will eventually dry
I am left with nothing to say
my spark of madness will die
I’m not the only one to think this
and as we type our latest works
we may always end up satisfied
and yet the doubts still lurk...
It is a pounding headache
that is a reappearing wave
it eats away the confidence
we try so hard to save.
It’s a troop of menacing goblins
That have the ability to grow...
They tell you you have no idea
on where you are to go
with sharp and gnashing teeth
and long, and blemished arms
They snatch helpless victims
and they cause us great alarm.
You feed it with your thoughts
even though you want them dead
But you cannot kill your Fears
cause they’re inside of your head.
You’re not afraid to be criticized
but you’re scared you’ll lose your art.
for the monsters we call Fear and Doubt
they want to eat our hearts
but when one feels he’s overcome
his fingers have a weight
too heavy for him to lift them up
the Monster’s have become too great.

The Green Man (Part One)
There was once a river
that flowed through a noble’s land
with as many trees around it
as grains of seaside sand.
And on the riverside
lived one of the Fay
A spirit who sometime ago
had appeared there to stay
His hair had tangled branches
and he glowed a grassy green
and the brilliance of his magic
could by everyone be seen.
A spirit who was strong
He was a powerful fairy...
He sometimes sang songs
that were ghost-like and scary
sometimes he sang of magic
sometimes he sang of love
sometimes of his lonesomeness
or he sang of God above...
He spent his days roaming
and was careful where he tread
and mourned greatly when he found
too many beasts were dead.
For he then he tracked the hunter
and would make him lose his way
and would rise sharp thorns
to prick him where ever he lay
He would make the wolves howl
and would obscure his sight
make his drinking water bitter
and just terrify his night.
The hunters had no entitlement
to kill, in the name of fun
Then to exhibit all their amusements-
would take only the jaw and tongue
they would leave the rest to rot
and find another wild victim
but could not leave till morrow-
for the Green Man would not let him.
When the Fairy’s job was done
he would sit by the riverside
sometimes he would sing
and sometimes he cried
would stare into the water
-into the murky green
and play with the light and shadows
that composed the river scene.
Now all of the hunters
were high born noblemen
they believed that near the river
was a dark, malicious demon.
The Lord sent a priest
and the Priest blessed the stream
but the fairy didn’t run off and leave...
for he was not an evil being.
In fact, he met the priest
as he said the last “Amen”
He said to him ”Bless me Father
I’m a lonely fairy-man.
The men who sent you
did not tell the whole story
but they care about their measure
of personal glory.
Take with you the jawbones
of many, many, deer.
and take with you the thighbones
they simply left here.
The pain and cruelty they relish
as grim trophies they gain
My job is to return the animal’s
needless terror and pain...”
He then pointed to a pile
and then another one
The priest raised his hand and said
“God bless you, my son”
He shook his head and added
“I will tell my Lord
be on your guard for he might
simply raise his sword.
He’ll bend his bow then rather
deal with these men.
For my good forest master-
they are his closest friends.
They are all known for their cruelty
and stupid wastefulness.
As you are for your generosity
and kind unselfishness.
For when the crops were bad...
Did you not give us food?
Gathered by your very hand
to do with as we would?
I knew this holy blessing
would not cast you down to Hell
but I knew that you would come out
with your story to tell.
But you say your work
has made you a lonely life?
Why don’t you go to other lands
and find a fairy wife?”
“No Father, I can’t leave this place
I’m as a dryad tied
to the dark woodlands here
and to the flowing riverside.
When I gave food I did not cross
where the forest ends
I put them in baskets
then I threw them on the edge.”
The priest understood this
and said to him goodbye
for he knew if he left the wood
the fairy would surely die.
The people all knew the Green man
was, of them all, the only one
who was at least bold enough
to appear in his own person.
So the priest said that he would pray
for the magical green man
and hopefully one day
the fairy could leave the land.
And so the priest took the bones
altogether, it took three trips
and he showed them to the Lord
with the truth upon his lips.
The Noble Lord seemed to accept
the good cleric’s account
he appeared to believe
and he was relieved to have found out
He tricked the priest into thinking
they were once again on terms
that the fairy and the hunters
had their peace reaffirmed
But when the Lord dismissed
the Holy man of God
he wrote and sent a letter to
a famed sorceress abroad.
And, with her magic, rid him of
an evil fairy man
so he could gain control
completely of his land.
Though he himself did not hunt
nor saw the man of Fay
he knew the many stories
and heard all the hearsay.
and he felt he owed him taxes
by living in his wood
and practicing his magic ways
for the forest’s good.
Was he not the Master?
This fairy has got to go
The Lord alone has the right
to lay the woodlands low
or have it live and thrive
and have the animals
live and die for-
the Lord was tyrannical.
Many complained of him
and then they disappeared.
No one had told the King
because they were in fear.
There was high taxes and the like
They were a great distance from the King.
and all the messengers were bought
to share what they were bringing
to speak to the Lord’s ears alone
he was a man who loved control
and so he hated this wild man
with all of his soul.

The Green Man (Part Two)
Many quiet days went by
till brought to the Lord
was the famous sorceress
that he sent his letter for.
He was taken quite aback
for she was radiant and fair.
She was also powerful
and she had arrived there
to consent to the job he offered
to get rid of the forest fay
who would never come back
once he had gone away.
She knew the fairy was
a guardian of green
who could not leave the land
and was seldom ever seen.
The peasants said that he
would sing skillful songs...
So a plan formed in her mind
and she believed that he did wrong.
Because the Lord told her
that he committed murder
and he killed whoever he thought
was an animal hunter.
Next he pointed to a pile
and it was very high
It was a shocking sight of:
Bones from the thigh.
The Lord said this pile was
was from“His bone collection-
but he did not harm women”
he took care to mention.
“Lead him from the woods
and to his demise”
The Sorceress nodded.
for she believed his lies.
“And what about my payment?”
The Sorceress then asked
“Of course”, the Lord said
“Once you complete your task-
You’ll receive 500 gold pieces
along with my finest horse
I will give these to you
to be forever yours.”
She accepted her job
and she left accordingly
and walked straight into the wood
of fairy mystery.
She seemed very cheerful
inside the bright summer air
the sunlight shined down
onto her rosin hair.
and large patches of gold
danced on the forest floor.
This didn’t seem like the place
of evil fairy folk-lore...
But she also knew that these things
can all be deceiving.
So, with a clear and full voice
she started singing.
Her voice was light, but rich
it seemed like sweet red wine
as she picked her way about
the bushes and woodbine.
The forest was in bloom
the flowers in their prime
and so it felt good to her
to form another rhyme.
True, it did get darker
as deeper still, she went
“But only of health”, she noted,
“The green forest was wrent”.
She did not even have a
single evil vibe
She felt of the woods
as the time went by...
Still she was cautious
and now she heard a sound
and she thought for a moment
the fairy she had found.
It was only a white rabbit
that ran straight to his hole.
Assured of this, she whispered
“Just like the fairy’s soul...
One who’s seldom ever seen
and seldom ever sought
but content with being king
over a strange, meager lot.”
The Sorceress walked all the way
up to the riverbed
she was singing all the way
and she had no fear or dread.
The Spanish moss hung down
from trees like canopies.
there were shadows all around
yet the scene had peace.
“Welcome, miss. Be careful here.
and please do not fall in...
The current’s strong there, because
the rain has made it swollen.”
The woman turned around
but she saw and noticed nothing.
“Show yourself!”, she then called
“Who is the voice that’s speaking?”
“Fairies only show themselves
if they really want to”
“So you are a fairy then-
What’s the name I may call you?”
The Green Man was underneath
his prized mulberry tree
he said, “Don’t be silly, miss.
for everyone knows me.”
He remembered the priest’s words
that he had said to be aware
that this person might be an enemy
come as a woman fair.
But it had been so long
since he had had a chat.
and he felt lonely and hollow
as a abandoned empty vat.
and he could not resist
so he spoke right up again:
“But since you don’t know, my Lady
--- You may call me Dorian”

The Willfully Ignorant
There are those that see a crisis
and pretend it isn’t there
Though everyone can see
that it is everywhere.
But they think the world is fine
when it’s really crumbling
while they pass the truth they hear
as useless grumblings.
They thrive in ignorance
content with being fools
and fine to never realize
that they are the perfect tools.
They are robots for agendas
and machines of the masses.
They are the willfully blind
They don’t buy any glasses
To see through all the lies
and find a way to beat.
Cause they think that they are useless
and they can’t compete.
And so they live their lives
inside their “perfect” mind
and our world is now a place
where the Blind lead the Blind.
The Blind that lead the Blind
don’t know their history
because it’s been erased
by their Authorities.
And so the few that know
that Truth is in a Well
they guard It for the time
when it is safe for them to tell.
And when the world is done
being once again destroyed
Truth will be sought for
to live inside the void.

Undying Love
Oh me, Oh my, I don't know why
To you I lied and said goodbye
You cry out loud, had sleepless nights
Wishing you were here to hold you tight.
Yes, I had regretted what I had done.
But now I know you're in good hands
You should've heard what my feeling shouts.
I hope this plan will work us out.
I've sacrificed our love baby
'Coz I'll be gone by now, maybe?
You know we've been perfect, sweetie
Yet, I chose to lie, Sorry.
I'll hide this trouble and leave you thee
To my bestfriend that loves you, see?
I was hurt, still I love you so
And now I'm gonna let you go..
I'm sorry if I hid this ill
I'm dying and I love you still
I wish you'll forgive me for not telling you this,
Till death our love will bring me bliss.
